I figured I would post this in this forum to see if anyone that is familiar with hieroglyphics might see something they recognize. If anyone feels that this belongs in another forum please let me know and I'll remove it and re-post.

My daughter (5 years old), her friend (Also 5) and her younger sister (2 years old) drew these pictures.

I asked my daughter what these pictures were and she gave me a "silly daddy" look.

Her explanation was the symbols on the left were the following from top down.

The Sun,
A Bird/Plane
Grass
Worms

The one picture that really threw me off was the one in the bottom right corner. Apparently my 2 year old drew that one but the 5 year old felt like she was taking to long and decided to scribble purple all over her sister's picture. (I'm working on her being nicer to her little sister.)

Quite remarkable. The eyes of a child.... innocence.

To me it looks like a couple kids practicing the alphabet. I see a capital "A" and a "d"or maybe a "p".

Could be something more but.....

Sunrays, birds, alphabet....nope, not Hieroglyphics, just kids drawings. We still have our kids drawings from their young ages...

I love adolescent art! I keep pictures and crafts made by all the little ones in my family. I noticed in these pictures quite a bit of repetition from one to the next. Seems like someone is really focused on those symbols, especially the three vertical lines--the grass I'm assuming?

You should sit down and draw with them, if you don't already, and ask them some questions. Draw something peculiar and ask them what they think it is and vice versa.

Makes for a wonderful afternoon activity! Thanks for sharing!

When i was 5-6 (over 30 years ago) i remember drawing symbols, I didn't know what they were I just had to draw them so i didn't forget them. When i was 13 I found the book in my bedroom and for no reason I set fire to it on my bedroom floor and went out. My room was gutted and the house was badly smoke damaged. I had to reason to do it, i just didnt make sence. I was arrested for arson but my family spoke with the police and i was just given a caution.

Sorry i went in a bit long in your thread, was just adding my strange symbols story. Maybe keep them in a book for her and see if she burns your house down when she finds the book later in life

I find that to be absolutely extraordinary.
There are characters of several ancient languages represented.

Where did you get that image? I was searching online and couldn't find anything to reference them with. I don't think there is something nefarious about it. I asked her a bit more and she just told me they draw the grass and sun in school all the time.

I just use a image search for languages.

But, what I find fascinating, is if you consider the mathematical odds of a small child writing out at random that many similar characters.

There is also some semblance of Sanskirt as well.

I am by no means a expert, but I did associate with alot of people who were.
Former Mayor of Jerusalem Teddy Kollek was a expert in ancient manuscripts.
I leaned most of what I know from him.
I would transport some of that stuff for him time to time, back in the day.

Well when you think about written language in general they started out with abstracted pictures. I also realized that at least 3 of 4 elements are represented. The Sun (fire), The bird/plane, (air), the grass (the earth). I find it ironic that she representescape that because I don't talk to her about stuff like that.

Why are you doubting the one who created the symbols? They are exactly what she says they are.

No, none are Egyptian hieroglyphs.

It's not that I'm doubting her nor do I think they are Egyptian Hieroglyphics. I guess I was using the wrong words. To me they resemble cuinform. Even though she said they are all the same some of them are clearly different like the 6 with the eye above it. I'm wondering if I should post this in the paranormal forum? I just feel like there is more too it....

I think you should believe the child.

She has a gift for design; she can take the main elements of an image and refine them to a simple and clear object. This isn't magic or cuneiform (it looks nothing like cuneiform) or anything else.

It IS the sign of someone who is a potentially gifted graphic designer or someone who can carve through a lot of information to the heart of something.

Don't denigrate her natural talent by presuming that it is "something else" being channeled through her - that sort of thing stifles real exploration and creativity (because it assumes that the real source isn't the person but Some Other Being.) Celebrate her innate ability, instead.
