What brought me to the conspiracy side, the "dark" side, was conspiracies where you could actually use the term "Weiner" when talking about politics.

In my lurid past, I had (on occasion) actually done things that most people do not know.


I was Monica Lewinski's dry-cleaner.

When they sang, "Who let the dogs out", it was me.

I was the one that suggested that Dale Evans "Trigger" Roy Rodgers. (see who gets that)

I never was a commando, but I definitely went that way.

Col. Sanders once trusted me with ten of the eleven herbs and spices for his recipe chicken. (I think the eleventh was Soy Sauce)

And "Jack" used to paint me like one of his French girls.

I am filled with secrets.

It's funny, I didn't wind up here on some conspiracy theory.
I found this place seeking information on a full blown conspiracy. A real one.

Money.
I remember sitting around earning twice what anyone the people my age earned, still feeling like I was scraping the barrel... And then I looked into it.
What I found has not only disturbed me, but I've since learned a whole lot about what it means to be awake, in a flock of sheep.
Just paying attention means I learn more every day.

Those of us who pay attention, and know what we are against, are monitored more closely. People have given their lives to let us know, only to be pop stars for a week.

There is a conspiracy, run by the deep seeded evil. They see every key stroke, they know your clipboard history. Do not trust the machines.

It was so long ago, I don't remember exactly what brought me here, but it had to be when I was searching for something mysterious and unexplained. I found so many fascinating topics while I was here, it was like being a kid in a candy store. I jumped right in to join and haven't shut up since. Knock on wood, they haven't thrown me out...yet.

It was the general net searches had often brought me to the site. It wasn't just one CT topic, nor just one topic. Kinda non CT topics,might be CT to some, were a broader appeal to me overall. That is such as along the lines of paranormal, occult, cryptozoology, urban legends, ancient civilizations, etc. One thing is for sure I didn't come for politics, but ended up with a lot of news topics to share-some politics, some not.

The conspiracy stuff has become a dwindling part of the site over the years.

Now it's mostly another online bastion of the Alt Right.

Pity that. The conspiracy stuff is still some of the more interesting stuff on this site.

Plus, now we have what may be revealed as the biggest conspiracy in US history. (A President who colluded with a foreign government.) And a large portion of ATS is siding with the conspirators and the foreign government.

Who da thunk it?

Some weird, long deleted thread about this solipsist nightmare where the poster was claiming that if you were smart and careful enough, you could eavesdrop on the actors around you; basically catching the actors on the Truman Show while they're on a coffee break.
What was weird was that nothing about the poster said "paranoid schizophrenia"; none of the red flags like persecution complex, scattered thinking or hallucinations...just this matter-of-fact dissection of a purpose-built life that he was going along with because there was no alternative. Then another guy joined in with an alternative perspective that was diametrically opposite but equally fascinating.

Then both promptly stopped posting and never returned.

It had occurred to me that both were the same person and s/he was playing out a bizarre, brilliant roleplaying narrative or something like that, but I never thought of an answer that made sense. I still think about the thread from time to time.

I spent much time reading as a non member and I think the Japan earthquake just sort of pushed me into joining. I don't recall what it was like reading as a non member (if it was as tedious as it is today) but one of the biggest threads that I was following wound up with over 1000 pages, 500+ flags.
There were some odd things happening to me personally at the time, after my father's death and that subsequently led to my elderly mother moving in with me which led to many sleepless nights, odd occurrences and the regular search for answers or folks with similar events (so as not to feel so odd or alone perhaps).
Anyway, I don't think it was one thing but, a multitude of things at the time.

My late mother was always looking to repay me for helping her to live

independently. Needless to say I neither wanted/needed any type of

remuneration.

After a visit from a slightly younger relative who had done a lot of research

on the family tree and had all the information on a laptop, my mother decided

I too should have a laptop, she colluded with my daughter and on my birthday

(I who still did 'long division' budgeted on the back of an envelope, didnt own

and still dont own a mobile phone) became the proud owner of a 'laptop'


I asked my daughter "What am I supposed to do with this? where do I begin? I

havent got a clue! HELP!!"

She set me up a e.mail ... a family group of fb.... our personal geneology site ...

I asked again "What do I do now?" She replied 'google anything'.....So I did.


An early google of a name gave me a shock and I phoned my daughter to take a

look following up on that, between us we ended up at a German conspiracy site

which then led us to ATS ....
