Today I was working in the garden and it was already a ( annoying) jet day. Some F16's burning some rounds all morning disturbing my bird noises.
Don't get me wrong, I like some nice jet display, .. but not the noise for a few hours without any sight or nihil sighting.

Anyway, suddenly i heard another plane, heavy.. I looked up and saw in first look a very low flying cargo or other jet.. due to the propeller sound i looked a bit more observing, then i noticed .. 3 engines on either side... and i'm almost sure it was a propeller aircraft.

I googled a bit.. but did not get a satisfying answer.. What 6 engine propeller plane could fly over ?

Location: Netherlands, Gelderland.

The only currently flying 6 engine plane I've heard of is the AN-225, and there's no mistaking that for a turboprop.

C-130 with added long range tanks under the wing perhaps ? Could look like engines from a distance.

Thats what i got after googling too.. it confused me and made me doubt my observation... But is was low.. clear sky .. and even the sound was prop...

Not sure how to express it.. but i'm quite sure.. it was low.. and the noise...

I hesitated to post it after googling.

Any museum piece flying around maybe?

It could be. Just about all the six engine prop planes were WWII era. Someone may have restored one.

I googled an-225 ah.. the Antonov...

Funny that thing actually came over my house about a dozen years ago, very low... after that it got chained a few years at Maastricht airport if i'm not mistaken.

But i'm sure it was not the same plane.

How come none have said the obvious?

You witness one of those time anomalies and what you saw was a Messerschmitt Me 323 flying on WW2, nobody will believe those guys when they tell their tale of futuristic cities all over Netherlands.

It only flew one time. I'm thinking that test was not exactly comprehensive nor conclusive.

Maybe from the German site. Are you close to the border?

Maybe some eccentric billionaire built a flying replica of the Saunders-Roe Princess in secret.

I know I'd probably do something like that if I was Paul Allen-rich. Which is probably why I'm not.

I searched some images from your suggestion. I fairly sure it was not like that.

I actually looked carefully because i enjoyed the props sound an low altitude.. then it struck me it had 6 engines, actually tried to check twice if i was not mistaken, and did notice the symmetry between all bulbs , engines..

I wondered, went in googled... could net got a satisfying anwer... doubted myself actually for a few minutes... .. put it away.. nut hey, i know what i did see.

Six props.
