Attorney General Sessions sent out letters to many U.S. Attorneys asking for resignations.

So far one has decided to not resign.

The man apparently got a phone call that Trump fired him !!

Twitter has the info.

US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara, Fired by Trump Administration

Earlier today, word came out that the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara, was going to refuse to honor the resignation request from Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Sessions had asked (basically told) all Obama-era US Attorney to get the hell out. This is common and fully in line with the authority of the attorney general, and by extension, the President of the United States.

Preet Bharara ✔
@PreetBharara

I did not resign. Moments ago I was fired. Being the US Attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life.

He is a political appointee and serves at the pleasure of the President. Clinton fired 93 of 94 US attorneys.

While he is / was awesome going after corruption he chose to handle it poorly.

All of them have been asked for resignations, but many of them will be asked to stay on. The attorney for Western Washington, for example, is a keeper. We already know she will stay.

I guess when the swamp water's drained a little ... those bobbing heads make for easy targets.

Good riddance Preet.

[snipped]

They get everything handed to them in this country. They don't know how to behave. And, then they cause trouble. I think there oughta be some kind of 'take back' clause put into citizenship laws. If you can't act like an American, "There's the door, Bucko. Don't let it bump you on the tush."

It's Political Madness I tell ya.

What part of "appointed to serve at the president's pleasure" does this fool not understand?

This certainly proves that he was in fact disloyal and adverserial to Trump.

An US Attorney that wants to do his job to ensure the cases he has been working on continue with good turnover to the next US Attorney that is replacing him. Trump just made that impossible with no replacement ready and it just happens that this is the US Attorney that would have overseen anything related to Trump Tower.

That is the way it has always been.

The guy knew that before accepting the job.

It is not a lifetime position like the supreme court.

Yep. After Trump asked him to stay on. Maybe Trump forgot.

This whole mass firing was a poor idea.

Reagan took 2 years to to do this and I don't think it was every last one.

Trump is the only one to demand this on a Friday and give them until midnight to get out.

But, Trump still whips about in a china shop breaking stuff and people's lives.

Bharara handled it great. I would have done the same. If I had worked hard to get there and done a fantastic job, I would have said, 'No, you have to fire me.'

Like I would put in the effort of a letter in order to lose my job? LOL

Serves at the pleasure of the President, yes. If the President is unhappy, he can tell someone to do the firing..which he did.

Didn't Reagan fire a bunch of air controllers all at once?

The dude had since Nov 2016 to pack his stuff.

Trump: Everyone fall on your sword
Attorney: Naa, you fire me instead
Cult: The nerve of him! How dare he not listen to Trumpgod!!!

Sometimes not listening to your god emperor is exactly the right move.

What makes this guy so special? He decided to make a news story out of it?

Do you think he was the only only who didn't want to lose their job?

Do you any of the 93 that Clinton actually fired in one day nonetheless wanted to keep their jobs?

Trump was gracious enough to give them the opportunity to resign first while Clinton purged them all in one day. But no one see that. Trump is the fascist dictator/emperor. Just such hypocrisy.

The fact that people demonize Trump over this media starved Obama stooge creating a story further proves the political hypocrisy of liberals and democrats.

Pay attention.

It is not about letting him go or firing him.

It's how it was handled.

You say that like I would be in agreement with Clintons methods...Clinton was setting up a echo chamber, Trump is doing the same. Are you saying you like Clintons methods?

It's typical liberal hand wringing. There's no story. It's normal for Presidents to do this in new administrations.

Trump kept him on almost two months. Evidently, he didn't meet the standards Trump set. Maybe he was dragging his feet on a reeeaaallllyy important matter.
