I am also very disgusted by that other fairytale where the princess tongue kisses the frog. Gross. Why cant people just keep to their species?

Well, that famous Disney story "The Prince and the Nanny Goat who didn't turn into a Princess When He Kissed Her" is rated R.

Maybe it wasn't Disney.

ps - they lived haa-aa-aa-aa-aapily ever after

I agree totally. It's not anti gay it's what is age appropriate. Showing a gay couple with a family is fine. It's great and I applaud the effort to end the stigmatization. But people exploring any sexuality gay or straight just isn't appropriate for a young child. We can allow for differing family dynamics without sex for kiddies.
They don't discuss straight sexuality in children's films why include any?

Why not have the good guy be a plumber and the beautiful girl be a math major?

Beauty and the Beast. The original ode to Furries.

Disney movies are built around heterosexuality. It's why the prince and the princess end up together and live happily ever after. Why can't a homosexual character potentially get the same ending? Once again, it doesn't sound like this character is flamingly homosexual with his only character trait being gay. This sounds like a fleshed out character that just happens to be gay. His sexual preference is going to have a much smaller impact on the movie than Belle's. So why make such a big deal out of it? It even sounds like the revelation that he is gay is going to be a blink and you'll miss it moment.

There is so much wrong with that, it's not worth replying. But I'm quoting this for posterity:

Sorry that you aren't open minded.

Well, the original had murder, stalking, sorcery, jealousy, dishonesty and a whole lotta foolin' around.

Much better than the lame ass Disney-fied version.

So, what you're saying, is that my first kids' book should be "Game of Beasts".

Going to be tough to slip it past the school librarians.

eta: Game of Goats might be cool too. The theme song could be all goat bleats. BA ba ba Ba BA ba ba Ba BA ba...

Exactly. I'm not against people being who they are. But I resent popular culture shoving the issue of sexuality on us all of the time. It's up to parents - not society - to navigate this with our children. It's very, very difficult to parent these days - sometimes it's an up-at-down siege, it's often exhausting and it's occasionally demoralizing. I damn sure don't want to turn on the TV or see a movie and have to tread carefully through another parental minefield during a time that I should be relaxing and sharing something with my kid.

You are right, its up to the parents to be as strict and close-minded as they want.

If you do not want your children listening to music, looking at art or watching disney movies bc...pop culture...then keep them locked in a box!

Star Wars doesn't count. You could only take that franchise up after those prequels.
