Agreed. I also believe that they do have a WW2 Level Nuke and combined with those Nerve Agents good god were all ucked.

That why the USA needs to strike now before they get long range missle capability.

Well lets see. The Military death toll would be in the hundreds of thousands. The civilian death toll into the millions. The economic damage into the trillions, not to mention the refugee crisis created from the disintegration of the DPRK would cripple practically everyone in the region. South Korea would probably collapse entirely as well.

Any WMDs not used/destroyed would probably end up in the hands of rogue generals willing to sell to the highest bidder. Loyalists would wage a guerrilla war against that makes Ba'athist Iraq look like amateurs.

I'm mostly against pre-emptive strikes, unless a threat is imminent (such as an ICBM in launch mode with a target lock on something). If a long range missile was launched, it could likely get intercepted before it hits a target, unless that target is somewhere closer, such as Japan. In any event, North Korea would be toast.

i don't think the people of North Korea deserve to be bombed to hell and back, just like the American people do not deserve to bombed to hell and back because another country might disagree with its leader.

No pre-emption. Stave off war at all costs.

The DPRK's continued survival is far superior to the alternative in China's eyes. They have no interest, whatsoever, in bordering yet another Pro-American state, not to mention the billions a year worth of minerals trade they extract from the DPRK for pennies of the actual value would dry up.

They will continue to side with the DPRK unless they decide to out of the blue invade China itself. Which they won't.

They will give some symbolic objection to their actions, like supporting sanctions they have absolutely no intention of enforcing.

The problem is the U.S have a Treaty with South Korea, which means that if they go to war with North Korea, they have to be involved.

No, they really won't.

They have no intention of launching a nuclear first strike against anybody.

Their nuclear missile program is purely for deterrence, since they lack the conventional capabilities to adequately defend themselves from external aggression, and America has made it quite clear the downfall of the Workers' Party is their official stance.
