Considering DeVos wants federal funds going to religious schools and you're defending her I took it to mean that you had no issue with that.
They may want to curb their enthusiasm and realize they're also now leaving blank checks on the table for new ones teaching ideologies they don't support, like madrassas. All thanks to their golden girl's misguided Dominionist crap.

Bottom line, the left had decades to improve our school system.
And they failed.
You do know that a Republican was President before Pres. Obama?
Or do you not understand how many years "Decades" are?
Then again you unwittingly make a case for a failed education system in your post...

Can any of the detractors name 3 things about her that would NOT make her a good Sec of Education?
PS from a conspiracy sense I am surprised no one bring up her brother.....
I've personally experienced and then watched as her family and their ilk destroyed and profitted off the children in michigan. For the record I went to grade school when they opened the edison project as this new school idea back in the mid 90s. They sold the concept to poor families offering a free computer, (which were little more than a typewriter with a screen at the time) in the home. The difference in education was negligible compared to traditional, the teachers were vastly underpaid which hurt the local economy and they spent government money to buy their books and supplies from sister companies at marked up prices. Plus, there is no school board for charters, so the community has very little say in the education process.

The don't need to teach god per say, They do need to teach morals. How to convince children and these adult children to follow morals without god is difficult

It would be so entertaining watching her crash and burn if it didn't also mean f***ing over our children's education.
Your teachers are right now out there keeping busy inciting violence and murder.
Missed that story...got a link?
Here is one recent example.
VOUCHERS...My issue with vouchers is it steals funds from public schools to make sending rich kids to private schools cheaper.

She funded a "conversion therapy" charity to the tune of 100M+ to pray the gay out of LGBT youth.
She said states should decide for themselves if they want to teach Special Ed kids.
She (falsely) claimed that Wyoming had guns in schools to protect against grizzly bears?? In defense of her position that guns should be in schools.
VOUCHERS...My issue with vouchers is it steals funds from public schools to make sending rich kids to private schools cheaper.
District X gets 1 Million in Federal Dollars for public schools. She takes 500K of that and gives it in the form of coupons to anyone who wants them if they want to attend the expensive private school in town. The Private school costs 10k per year, the coupon/voucher for rich kids pays for 6K of that 10k bill...and the poor kids couldn't afford the remaining 4k bill anyways.
That is how you take tax-payer money from public schools (defunding them and making them worse) and give it to rich families so they can pay a lot less for johnnies private school and maybe even save enough to buy that 2nd home in the Hamptons!

The education system has gotten worse.
Standards are lower to improve graduation rates, the quality of education has dropped, and you and your ideology has failed to own up for it.
Our education system sucks.
Now it's time to give someone else a try.

Love the way Righties blow off Dominionism.
The Dominionists have been steadily pushing this for years.
Turn a blind eye. Then someday "How could it happen?"
Heard that before.

In many ways, Dominionism is more a political phenomenon than a theological one. Just so you'd know you're just inhaling the partisan politics on this one, too.

I hope people refuse to work for her. And boycott everything she puts out.
Well now, that will certainly be a fine example of putting children and their education first, won't it? "Kids, no school for an indefinite period of time while grown ups act like little spoiled babies and refuse to do their job as teachers because they disagree with someone chosen to serve the country in a role of authority over them."
But of course, it's all about the children...

The test is based on a 1,000-point scale. Among the findings:
-In math, the U.S. average score was 470, below the international average of 490. Average scores ranged from 564 in Singapore to 328 in the Dominican Republic.
-In science, the U.S. average score was 496, about the same as the international average of 493. Average scores ranged from 556 in Singapore to 332 in the Dominican Republic.
"Since Michigan embraced the DeVos family's ideas about choice, Michigan has steadily declined on the National Assessment of Educational Progress," Ravitch wrote.
Michigan has gone from a middle-of-the-pack state to the bottom tier in just 12 years. The state's NAEP ranking on fourth grade reading has dropped from 28th in 2003 to 41st in 2015, the latest results. The fourth grade math ranking has dropped from 27th in 2003 to 42nd, writes Ravitch. The Detroit Free Press runs down the numbers here.
DeVos is "unprepared, unqualified and unfit" for the office, and "would be the first Secretary of Education in our history to be hostile to public education."

History in the making!!
The first time ever a cabinet nominee was so unpopular and incapable of getting the sufficient votes where the Vice President had to step in to nudge her over the edge!
