Seriously, it has already been muted. If they communicate by telepathy then our minds recognize the information. I do honestly believe that humans as we are can communicate telepathically but we either have lost the "teaching" or we have a block inserted to stop us.
I, to a certain extent believe we as humans are kept apart, mentally as well as physically from the rest of the Universe. Some have even suggested we live on a prison planet. I could quite easily go with that scenario as virtually all the species of man on Earth has a violent unpredictable tendencies.
That of course opens up the good idea that all the different races on Earth didn't evolve here but on their own separate worlds. As for the life of me I cannot accept that, to give a simple example, that black people moving to the Northern hemisphere over time (even thousands of years) turning white.

More likely that Neanderthals and perhaps other quasi-human species had much stronger telepathic ability that essentially died out when modern humans evolved and either killed the other humanoids or interbred with them. Our weak telepathy is about what you'd expect with only 2 or 3 percent Neanderthal DNA still left in us.

My guess would be that as the worlds grown smaller and technology has advanced to the point of being able to communicate around the world with the click of a button that to avoid global panic they switched to a "less scary" approach. Projecting themselves as something we can better relate too instead of some crazy out of this world being. I know i could definitely relate easier to something more human looking than a giant praying mantis lol.

There are many claims of abductee experiences reported around the world that involve the gathering of genetic material, removal of fetus and sperm. Logical to conclude that genetic manipulations are being conducted.

Question is, by whom? Some claim that there is human collusion. Perhaps a deal was cut...a well compartmentalized deal. Fools who think a deal with the devil secures them and their progeny a special place in the new order.

Like getting evidence of the so called aliens or an abduction court on tape we don't have much if any to go on.
Baring hypnotic regression and that can open up a can of worms and sometimes further confuse the issue.

I was just thinking of the sightings of mothman back in the 60's. I don't think that it should be regarded as something separate from the ufo phenomena. If anyone has read John Keel's book The Mothman Prophesies, he talks about all kinds of strange things seen - be it MIB, Indrid Cold, Mothman - all in front of backdrop of ufo sightings. These beings certainly fit into the humanoid category.

A lot of people (thousands) sent him letters of their experiences which commonly included greys with deceased loved ones. Also the small ones told many ppl that 'one day you will look like us.'

Hey don't you worry about me, I rejected the 'they are beings visiting from other planets in flying machines' hypothesis years ago. It's far too simplistic and far to reflective of our own age. The similarities between the phenomenon and the fairy lore (not tinkerbell style fairies), for example, are staggering and simply cannot be denied. It really is a true mystery.
