They would have to buy their power from a foreign country if they decided to leave.

California seems to like Mexico...
Im sure the Mexican power grid is great...

If the CA legislature gets involved ala Texas, and Trump also
follows suit with threatening a no-fly zone-- I'm praying the
general pop and legislature fail to notice because of a 'slow
news weekend'.

PS and oh yeah Chris, one of the first things I bet happens
with the sudden financial vacuum of those free Kw Hours--
PG&E stock would drop so fast CA's knee pads would explode.
But I love me a power disasta movie Janie (when she was cute).

I'm from California and I will be voting no on this issue

California gets about 81 cents back for each Federal tax dollar they send to Washington.

However, I don't want to live outside the US

I won't be voting for it either. It's stupid.

Politically CA is split about 50/50 between Left & Right.

It makes more sense to have an East/West split into to different states. The coast seems to be more liberal with higher education levels.

Hope you're interested in a new diet plan if this happens.

But I'm sure we could just import replacement foods from Mexico.

Oh... wait...

Weird...
so who's going to provide your National Defense?

I think we're almost to the point of the discussion where 'the
people with the guns are going to determine who gets to eat'.
I've seen that happen in other countries before-- it's kind of ugly.

And with their gun laws, I think SoCal is going to run out of
ammo in a hurry. Maybe I'm a little too accustomed to being
hungry to be worried about a whole state going hari-kiri.

Hopefully with your newfound statehoods y'all can ban "to kill a mockingbird" and "huckleberry fin"...

I know it's offensive to the delicate sensibilities of the liberal elite...
Such an educated bunch...

You sure seem to think you know a lot about it.

Spanish/Mexicans were the original Californians (except for the indigenous natives)

They had huge ranches all over CA.

Of course there's a connection between CA & Mexico.

They were here first.

I would bet that they would have offshore drilling going on fairly soon after their exit.

why?...we have refineries, and we will buy the crude from Mexico, just a one day cruise down the coast.

Actually Eurasians were the original...multiple pre-Clovis migrations saw the American continents populated from head to toe as it were...

So if anyone has dibs on California it's the jomon descendants of my beloved Japan...or the Inuits...

Anyhow, I learned anthropological history in books probably disallowed by liberal dogma as it labeled races and facts about said races...so it's against progressive orthodoxy...

Want citations?
Ok...my brain, page 3

Maybe we should fire up HAARP and CERN at the same time, aim it along the California border, and help them move. Lol. Nevada has some really nice sand, and would make for a great coast line.

California grows pretty much all the food.

But I'm sure we could just import replacement foods from Mexico.

Oh... wait...

Oh no'z! No one else in the US knows how to grow food!! We all gonna starve!

I'm quite certain many states would LOVE to pick up where cali drops off on the food stand.

I'm all for it.... I'll even be the first to wave buh bye!

Who cares if they were here first..... They got their butts handed to them on a platter..... just like the native americans did.....thats how the real world works. They should have fought harder to drive back the invading gringos.

That is pretty much my feelings on this subject.

I mean come on what do they have to lose? They will lose billions a year from sanctuary cities if they leave or not.

I pretty much picture this in their future:

Cali already feels like a foreign country. They think differently, they hate America, they disrespect the Constitution...
... Not all of Cali. Maybe the north can stay.
But the rest can go and that will be just fine.

I wonder how they will protect themselves? How can they have an army when most of the state is against guns?

We would not need to bail them out when the big earthquake hits.

They can be the buffer when North Korea finally flips out so they get hit before us.

I hope they let the rest of the country vote to decide. Can we just kick them out and be done with it?

But, I doubt the Democrats will let it happen. They would never win another election and would lose a huge chunk of electoral votes as well as a significant representation in Congress.

San Diego is a right wing area, right on the coast.

We can split the state though. Us conservatives get Tahoe. You democrats can keep the LA traffic and smog.
