The story should be titled
"Media propaganda and blatant fear mongering threatens the health of gullible, low information, Californians."

...Californian youth are troubled by Trump’s policies towards illegal immigration, and that they feel targeted by “hate crimes” attributed — rightly or wrongly — to Trump’s supporters.

Sounds like a bunch of ignorant children whining to anyone that will listen. The adults who oppose Trump have stepped in to help ensure that their voices are heard and that their "message" comes across clearly.

If these kids had any clue or were coherent in their thoughts, the adults wouldn't need to override their ability to speak for themselves. Otherwise, they're too young and have likely been brainwashed by their parents.

“Reports of these mental health concerns remain mostly anecdotal so far,"

The adults that vehemently oppose Trump are attempting to paint a false narrative by using general terms like "our youth," to represent some silent majority, more or less born from the idea that all minorities feel the same.

All they know is to FEAR. Something that most Americans have been trained to succumb to and let consume us. Fear of gods, fear of disease, fear of terror, fear of safety, fear of orange, narcissistic billionaires, etc...

...“Muslims, Jews, Latinos, African-Americans and women and victims of sexual assault” are now, thanks to Trump’s victory and the “hateful rhetoric” attributed thereto, “uncertain whom they can trust."

Keith Humphreys, you are a joke. I've never heard of anything more ridiculous in my life. Thankfully, I'm a straight, white male and have no reason to fear anything. /sarc

Whatever becomes the considered norm or "status quo" is what youth will always rebel against.

Just as older generations rebelled against their conservative/religious parents led by "dissidents" like Rolling Stones and MLK, today's youth are beginning to rebel against their liberal/SJW parents led by "dissidents" like Milo and Trump. It was inevitable.

Boy, we sure got some messed up people in this country. It is just a presidential election, it is not the end of the world. We have congress to make sure that Trump doesn't mess up. The fact that these people are believing that the world will end has nothing to do with Trump as president, they were mentally ill to begin with. To believe in things that are not really a threat is a mental illness. Maybe someone should try to tell them this instead of walking on egg shells. I would tend to bet that the psychologists are also Democrats in California and they will blow this all out of shape. If Trump repeals the Obamacare, their chance of getting lots of customers decreases, so yes, those in Psychology might fear Trump. They will lose money with his administration

It's more than possible.

If you were 8 and undocumented and saw just what was on the news, you would be terrified.

If you were 14 and were born here yet see your parents may be deported, you might be devastated.

I can see a TON of teachers and school counselors documenting this.

I saw the video of middle schoolers in a cafeteria chanting 'build that wall!' in the presence of Latino students.

I am not fond of your source and how they spin it, but this, as a fact, should be obviously concluded.

The East Bay Times , the original source, gives a little more information. Before Breitbart puts it through the spin cycle.

It DOES NOT say just California children.

Just IGNORANT CHILDREN? They see it on the news. They share their fears. Yet it makes you want to throw up.
I hope you father no children.

Here is my beef with what you are saying.. if the kids see the news process it enough and get scared... then the parents should sit them down and talk to them ...
if the parents are to busy running around flipping out over a guy who may or may not do anything to them and cant be bothered to talk to their children they are epic failures as parents.

This blatant fear mongering by the left over a guy that has not even been sworn in yet is ludicrous...

The man has never held office (so you cant judge by that), he is along time confidant of the clintons, yet the left is acting like he just crucified the Easter bunny... because of reasons???

Nobody... not left not right... not his advisers are certain over what he will do, all of this panic is just a guess..

I fully expect him to piss off the GOP by the end of his first year, and I expect the Democrats will pleasantly surprised in many ways before it is all said and done.

You are an intelligent person stop falling for the propaganda and think it through.

Literally couldn't care less.

Trump isn't to blame for the mental fragility and emotional weakness of these people.

I would ask my parents why, in the 8-14 years they've been here, have they not made an effort to get their citizenship or work visa.

My family literally helped 2 illegal immigrants get their citizenships. Great guys, hard workers. It's not like they can't do it already being here. The process took a couple years from what I remember but they made it through and went on to bigger better things.

This reminds me of the so called youth moaning about Brexit, blaming it on the older generation.
They spouted nonsense like their future had been stolen.

Makes sense to me but be careful though, too much logic also damages Leftist's minds.

You can blame Obama and the democrats for that.

They had 8 years to sort the country and the illegal immigration problem out and they did nothing.

That is still happening at moment... it's an amazing mindset that seems to conclude that if you have less years (on average) left on the planet then your rights are diminished. Perhaps they want vote weighting based on age? Strange.

This is becoming as bad as the Weed Revenge of the 60's where they showed images of frenzified people going insane over it.

Someone needs to make posters to address these nuts, or perhaps videos on how to reverse their paranoia. With any luck their coke habit aka liberalism, can be kicked!

I guess common sense would say that all criminals have problems with stress. I know when I did something wrong it was stressful . doesn't take a PHD to figure that out. Now the adults and by that I mean teachers and government workers aiding the criminals had better be stressed too

I wonder if it frightened cuban-americans and Cuban kids when the media and Democrats fawned and gushed over Fidel Castro after he died.
