Is there any way to find out which posts the quotes are taken from? I'm guessing that some of Crunky's threads provide a pretty rich seam.

google " advanced search " using the domain filter "www.abovetopsecret.com "

as search for the entire quiote as a blok - not just all the words

it will bring up the source thread for every one

thats how i confirmed that my quotes are in there - it looked familiar - but a double check confirmed it

How in the # is this okay? Do you have the approval to post the information from this web site to Twitter? Because the words written here and opinions expressed here don't belong to you, they belong to ATS. If I wanted to tweet, I'd be on Twitter. Plus, the entire tone of your page is condescending af.

hi - instead of slinging baseless accusations at fellow ATS members - why dont you actualy look carefully at that twitter account ???

there is a whole ` family ` of linked twitter feeds that follow the format " < website name > .txt "

all doing exactly the same thing - quote-mining for entertainment

if the issue bothers you so much - contact the staff [ ATS ] about it - as the ATS forum has rules on licencing members content to other sites and this COULD be in violation

Baseless? Was property that is owned by ATS removed from this site and put on another without written permission from SO? That's what I want to know. Do you really need to be schooled on copyright law?

As it is a small part of "copyrighted" work they are tweeting it may be permissible under "fair use" thus not needing permission. Its not being used for any commercial purposes so you could say it falls under criticism/teaching/research, which is indeed "fair use".

Remember, ATS wouldn't even exist if we weren't allowed to post quotes, links.etc from other websites.

If you post on the internet, you post for everyone to see. If you don't want to be quoted elsewhere then don't post on the internet
