LOL - it's Andrew, actually. I think Star might have thought this was your entry into the contest and got us mixed up.

I finally had the time to read Your Tale. Very well done!
It provoked emotions, and thoughts.

Very Well Done Indeed!!!

Excellent - I'm glad you liked it Syx. It's weird - as I was writing this I was like, "Yeah, that's OK, but really, where's it going? Some of the most important pieces didn't get put in until the last day or two - strange how a story evolves.

Ahhh Yes. The evolution of Tales.
When I do a Story, I have the idea I want to present. then I just start typing.
There are times I might be like You in that I ask myself, "is this going to work here?"
Sometimes My Tales will go off on a tangent near the end and then I'm like,
"Why put that in here now?"
Then get stuck trying to find how to advance the Story from there! LOL!
I also do a lot of deleting/re-writes. LOL!!

Your contest entry is Great!!!

That's a lot of how I write, also. I do not go through much revision as a general rule. There's a spark, an idea, or a moment in my head, and I kind of build the story around that as I go. I might plan it out a bit - like, for this one I made a list of which presents Joseph would give Mr. Norling and what their significance was, but that was essentially it. For the rest, I just followed the flow of characters.

I'm really enjoying writing these days. Maybe one day I will be able to turn it into a career. So much more enjoyable than programming, and I actually LIKE programming...!

Thank you, InTheLight. I really enjoyed reading yours as well - it really causes self-reflection. Where I live, it's pretty easy to cruise along and not think about the fact that there's real darkness out there and real people in power who have little regard for the value of human life.

Thank you again! Looks like you're fairly new to ATS. If you like stories, you may enjoy checking out the Shed.

Hi Prairie finally off for the night. Is this another area of ATS? I'm not much of a story writer but maybe comedy? lol

Thanks again!

It's a unique conversation thread that combines storytelling with general chit-chat. Stories come in the form of collaborative writing involving our online personas, or stand-alone story arcs. That's an insufficient description, however; you kind of have to experience it to get it.
