All right, I admit my blood is boiling now. I just ate fish and chips with a ketchup and I was not able to get one of those pictures out of my head.
Actor or not it was a pic of a bitch coughing blood which caused associations with a ketchup.
Don't worry I won't upload it. However you can see them here to get the feel: Pictures

I don't care about those people condition or someone else's care about my health. I have no problem with tobacco use (after some 20 years of smoking) once I discovered organic additive-free product.
I certainly won't stop consuming this teacher herb because of a picture of a hole in trachea which looks like an ass. I believe and I've got the right and many reasons to believe that it's not tobacco what's causing cancer. Are those bureaucratic officials able to set us free from asbestos? It's everywhere and people are dismantling it without any safety precautions. At least 3 out of 10 roof coverings are still made of asbestos where I live.

What if I don't smoke the product at all? What if I strap this on my "sore ass" or I make spray against aphids on my Cannabis plants?
I've got a right as a consumer to change my money for a product of choice - in a nice package. A package where I can read the brand. Without psychology tricks and lies covering 65% of the package because of socialistic health care system lobby.
Producers' rights are trampled underfoot. They should sue those bureaucrats and invest in a counter-campaign. States should cancel silly agreements not use them as an exuse. They screw with our REPUBLICs.
It's their job and nature. The only way to stop them is to get rid of them. With an Airlight Broom like Arnold.
And don't get me started about the taxes. Taxes are insanely and unethically high. It is drug-dealer's pinnacle of hypocrisy. An ugly socialism with the worst capitalism-aroma.

And one more thing - the stronger I roll the better because I smoke less to get a dose of harmala alkaloids and nicotine I enjoy. Don't try to wash my tobacco in water to lower alkaloids you bureaucratic idiots! It sure looks like a way to make more tax-money, doesn't it?

I have a nicotine addiction and I'm with you, that's my problem, but I don't want to have to see crap like that on the package. Its bad enough that i'm addicted, that I spend 7 dollars a day on a pack a day of cigarettes, just be happy you're getting my money, and my health insurance rates go up because I'm a smoker, so they make more money too.

Don't take my stomach with you. Christ.

PS I'm sorry you have to have that, we don't have that yet in the US.

If it makes you feel any better, we are all smokers now. The list of products which will have to carry ugly pictures is getting longer every day. Think about the action on sugars campaign. Its about finding a product that might (or might not) carry health "risks" (and everything has a risk that can be exaggerated and exploited), labelling the product to get people that there is something really bad about it, shaping and framing public opinion and then sueing the industry. As an added bonus, you get to impose ultra taxes on the product!

I have sensed a great deal of anger during the american election cycle. Do you think that this type of government interference in the intimate lives of its citzenry might be part of the reason?

By election, I mean both the american election and the brexit vote?

So are they going to start putting pictures of dead bodies on cars? How about people who die of sclerosis of the liver on alcohol?

When will they learn that once I turn 18 I don't need another "Daddy" looking over my shoulder? I am an adult that can make my own decisions!!!

I´m a light smoker, 4-6 cigarettes a day, still I am outraged because I´m a grown human and don´t need the EU to teach me, because what I´m doing (to myself) is my business. Yet, where are the pictures on alcohol bottles showing the effects of it??? If we go retarded, we´ll have to go the whole ten yards, I suggest. Oh, make it mandatory to print severed bodies onto cars, because you know, cars kill.

Yet the cigarettes are allowed to be sold in common stores, where every child can see those pictures. I mean there are ones with a crying baby smoking, or a fetus in an ashtray and someone stomps the cigarette out on it. Or a women coughing blood into a hankerchief. We ban games like Counter-Strike for under 18 years olds but allow such pictures to be shown in public so that the youngest can see them? This is so twisted.

Since we exchanged the DM against the Euro, everything has doubled in price almost over night in 2001, while the DM /Euro exchange ratio was 2:1. I´m all for cutting some heads in Brüssel and focus on the important things, not micromanaging every damn thing. It´s like they are totally detached from reality.

Edit: I see, Martin75 nearly makes the same points

SKRRRTTTT

Back to the Counter-Strike thing...........WHAT?!!!

I grew up playing Counter Strike. I was a 9 year old girl, kicking ass, taking names, and taking turns with my dad!
I wouldn't be the Nerd I am today if not for CS.
GG EU minors!

and fast forward to the part about micromanaging. Totally agree, its absurd.

Of course, but there is a constructive kind of anger. It's an immune reaction to BS. After you get rid of BS you can start to be positive/healthy again. It's a worldwide BS. Stuff like this would make me republican-like even if I lived in Russia or Japan.
Governments killed tens and hundreds of millions of people in the last century.

I played it too but I was way in my 30s when that Half-Life mod became more public, awp had crosshairs and bunny hopping was a thing. Don´t get me wrong, I was for the 18+ rating. But the irony, I can still point out

Although, I enjoyed showing the younger fellas how to work the mouse. In reality, the 18+ did nothing because I know the neighbors kids just got the retail version from Amazon, as a gift from their older clan-mates...

I was going to ask the same

Are they going to show morbidly obese people on packets of fatty foods ? Or their fat clogged arteries ?

Why doesn't alcohol have pictures of broken body parts ? People throwing up ? People fighting ?

Why do prescription medications not show pictures of potential side effects ?

Put pictures of headless bodies on trains ?

It's stupid and completely overboard

The latter I would agree with.

Funny, i don´t even smoke cigarettes anymore, but i collect those stupid "shock" pictures.
Because they are so badly staged and stupid that one can take them only as satire. They make me laugh. Which "creative advertiser" thought that such badly staged pics would shock people?
Are that all pics that are in circulation, because then only three are missing for me...

The EU?
Let´s try to make it short. It´s an antidemocratic construction of neoconservative old farts, alcoholics like Juncker. Of peeping toms that want to observe all the taxpayers for 24/7. To create a deceptive, felt security for themselfes, for the rich and their puppets. They think if they act like the StaSi, the GeStaPo, the NSA, China, North Corea, they can go on and on with their "lord of the manor politics".

Look at that CETA thing, i guess at least 80% of 500 Millions of european citizens don´t want CETA, TTIP and all that, and we don´t need it. Since the wallons prevent the europeans from being enslaved by overseas based, multinational acting corporations, the EU "rulers", and all of the rulers of the different states demonize the wallons for acting democratic, using the current contracts. The whole mass media prostitutes of the politicians, which are prostitutes of the "economies", multinational corporations, rich old farts and the several secret service controlled shadow governments around the western world, the presstitutes are the willing assistants. We are not known as uneducated here in europe, we know about NAFTA and similiar "free trade agreements".

But the EUlites think they can go on and on, like Juncker once said in an interview:
"We decide on something, leave it lying around and wait and see what happens. If no one kicks up a fuss, no riots start, because most people don't understand what has been decided, we continue step by step until there is no turning back." Link (german)
Another Juncker:
"If things becomes serious, one has to lie"

It´s bad that europes rulers obvisiously are controlled by the US. If the US says to anyone of the european politician puppets:
Jump down the cologne cathedral, they only ask:
When?

"Our" secret services spy for the NSA and all the other US three letter agencies, observe us for them, to send the data instantly to Utah, or wherever in the overseas, instead of protecting us from being observed by foreign secret services. The EU fights the peoples freedoms and liberty, destroyes them. All for the profits of the criminals behind the curtains, that in reality rule the world. Billionaires, corporation owners, secret services.

I could go on and on, but i wanted to make it kind of short...

I don't think the pictures help. When I quit cigarettes it wasn't due to warnings, which at that time, October 2012 in the US, were getting pretty morbid. I think it was before pictures. I think they have them here now on the packs.

However, tobacco is regulated and they seem to be able to put whatever they want on the packs.

Combustion is bad for your lungs. VERY BAD. It raises health costs for everyone. In regard to tobacco, mainly. People who smoke pipes, cigars or canabis I imagine smoke less.

You can ignore the pictures or quit or start vaping. You have a few choices.

Labels on alcohol bottles are nothing new.Careful what you wish for.
Some Mohammed wants a picture of a diseased liver with a message stating on wine, beer and alcohol bottles .
Alcohol Warning Labels
Belgium, Poland and Russia have them.

In germany it doesn´t even matter how old you are, if you by a game via steam, you will get the censored version, for the full price. So people let others from other countries buy the games for them, and get it as a gift.
Befor it was the Jazz, then the RocknRoll, later Rap. Ah, and all the bad VHS movies, that turned all of us into mass murders, before the video games turned us into monsters, war criminals, murderers, lifers...

It´s not the reality, the nonstopping wars and crimes in the news, the exploiting of people, all the senseless rules that turns average people into lunatics....Nooooo, it´s computergames, music, horror clowns....
xD
