Japan and India have resolved a price problem over the potential sale of 12 ShinMaywa US-2 amphibious aircraft. The deal was initiated two years ago,
and was stuck after failure to reach a deal on price. Japan wanted $133M per aircraft, while India was looking for lower. Japan agreed to reduce
price by 10% to $113M.
This may mark the first sale of military equipment to another nation by Japan, who overturned their self imposed ban in 2014.
