The Peace of God to all that belong to the Light,
Dear Readers,
Although Many are giving for granted that this 2016 Angela Merkel, German Cancellor, will win the Nobel Peace Award for her work in the crisis of
refuges in Europe, I have the strange feeling that the news of this week coming from Colombia will move the greatest weight toward their
possibilities in the contest.
First at all it is true the German politican has been so actively working for the Syrian refuges, but also that she had part on the events that
triggered the Ukrainian civil war, something that in my opinion will be also weighted carefully by Oslo before to decide in her favor the award.
I am sure Colombians that love peace are passing extremely difficult moments due to the shocking result of the referendum Yesterday, about the peace
agreements in between the government and the subversive group FARC, extremely tied among the supporters of it, who voted Yes and the ones opposing it,
who voted NO.

I have the strange feeling that the unexpected issue of the referendum results, after the agreement was successfully negotiated with the help of Cuba
and the Vatican city, and signed in La Havana in August and ratified the previous week in Cartagena could generate the necessary dramatic momentum to
move the Peace award this Friday for that country, or if not on the 2017 or 2018 versions of it.

The tension generated for this really serious inconvenient, the slight so narrow majority that the No got in the referendum is in my opinion an
interesting factor that offers the resistance element required to push the Nobel to the so suffered South American nation struggling for peace since
many decades ago of internal conflict.

Let me explain my point in this forecast: The equanimity to accept the results of the referendum, that proven to be authentically clean and
transparent, since it was a really tied result not in favor of the government, but still showing immense popular support to the peace process, and
the decision of both Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos and his counter part the commandant of the FARC Timoleon Jimenez of to stand in the cease
of fire and continue working for the peace, in spite of the opposition of powerful political sectors, could trigger the decision of the Norwegian
Academy either this Friday or at sometime in the following years in their favor.

The Nobel award of Peace sometimes has been granted to leaders that have already reached outstanding achievements in search for peace, but in many
more the recipients have been activists struggling a lot for the defense of human rights, noble causes or Justice in very adverse circumstances.
This has been the case of Martin Luther King Jr, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, Amnesty International, Rigoberta Menchu, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, the
14th Dalai Lama, Desmond Tutu, Lech Walesa, etc.. None of these Nobel awards were successful politicians at the time they received this recognition,
as a matter of fact they were in general considered failed leaders defending very difficult and unlikely winning causes.

One thing is sure, among all the nominees, it is probably the Colombian ones who require more urgently such stimulus as it is the Peace Nobel Award
to continue their so challenging job to create a stable peace through a negotiation process that have been proven to be among the most difficult of
History since it is taken place where there is so much cumulated hatred, division and violence.

What Colombia experienced Yesterday it was the most unexpected outcome of the referendum, a technical tied result in between the Yes and the No. It is
clear that this ended half and half for each choice, with a terrible high index of abstention, about 50% of the people habilitated to vote really did
so.
Nevertheless, the State Council in Colombia had declared about a month ago that it sufficed that the Yes would get 45000000 votes to approve the Peace
agreement and happily the final results are showing almost 2 million votes over that minumum threshold.
So, it seems the constitutional frame work is still keeping the Peace agreement safe to be declared sunk, but possibly negotiations will take place to
refine the terms in which must be implemented.

The thread is open to all the members interested in this so difficult peace process that is taking place in the heart of our hemisphere, on a so
strategic democratic nation, one of the two most reliable US allies in south America, the only in that continent with coasts in the two oceans,
whose waters surround the Panama Canal, as well as the Gulf of Venezuela, crossed by the equator line, the Andes mountains, the Guyana shield, and
it has access corridors to the Amazon and Orinoco Rivers.
