There are no mountains in Jacksonville. I was stationed there for four years.

There are no mountains in the state of Florida.

You're right, there is no point of reference

If the height of the mountain range is known that should be some reference.

A generous offer but I couldn't risk the headline: " Man missing after traveling 5500 miles to meet stranger who promised camping and UFO's".

Have you considered getting an LA based videographer to accompany you?
There's probably LA based peeps on ATS with access to the not particularly impressive kit required to capture..
Ideally you want someone who can capture the footage in a way that facilitates optical spectrum analysis post event.

Hell, you could get a Canon EOS6d on your credit card/hire one and get your money back in Youtube hits if the footage is even half decent....

I cant wait for the tech in these cameras to hit mobile phones (3-5 years?) as everyone will be able to capture everything they see.

Yes. Because you have to pay him (Greer). Nothing ain't worth nothin' if it's free.

Thick cloud cover most of the night, nothing to be seen.

Now the sky is mostly clear, but the south east is still not clear. I'll try again tomorrow.

I just don't see the point of discussing ad nauseum sightings that are as inconsequential as a light moving around in the sky at a great distance. And if it is happening night after night, it grows less and less likely that it is an alien craft. Hey, I wasn't there, the OP was, so what the heck do I know, right? Carry on if you like, but I don't see a lot of posts here from people who have seen something up close. Where are they? Why aren't they here on ATS?

But here we have three pages where the pro-cons weigh in. Really? This is worth the dissection? Okay.

I think it is, because, even if it's just someone flying a drone on their spare time, it will show the OP and all the people reading (including those that are not ATS members) some ideas of what to do in similar circumstances.

Nobody here said anything about aliens. I personally find this thread interesting and I would also like to know what it is OP saw. Is it military technology, is it something natural?
Those are my first questions.
Lights that fly as if under intelligent control could be a secret military trial and I would like to know more about it.
As a very LAST idea, I MAY consider extra terrestrials but that would be after considering terrestrials first [maybe a hidden culture/society that is more advanced? - but as I said, those are really at the very bottom of my list of possible reasons]

It amazes me that some people have no interest in such things. You can always not follow the thread.

A thread like this makes a hell of a refreshing difference to all the f***ing Hillary and Trump threads.

Hey, there's an alien at the top of this page. And every page under this topic.

Wow, you MAY consider extraterrestrials, lol, how forward thinking. I don't know what the OP here saw, and I certainly don't see much evidence of ET in this case either, but it is far less interesting and important than the cases that are.

Well considering you said this earlier in the thread

"I've had 3 set up in an array recording most of the visible sky for years yet still nothing that cant be id'd using N2YO, stellarium and flight radar. "

I figured id offer perhaps more suitable locations for your three cameras to capture something that cant be explained away by flight radar, stellarium and n2yo. I mean since youve dedicated three years of your life in vain n all. Was just trying to help a brother out.

But awesome character assessment of me. Didnt know i was such a creep.

And to think i woulda done it all for free and i woulda treated you to a gourmet meal at In N Out Burger. I was going to splurge and get you the animal fries n everything.

But now?.........nope.

Think you're reading a bit too deeply.
No one (sane) treks 5000 miles to camp with strangers to see UFO's- unless seemingly, the person doing the inviting is a Doctor.

Not a character assessment just a true statement.

That's your opinion and you are entitled to it. I have my own opinion and I am also entitled. This is a conspiracy forum, so this thread is spot on. The only one that seems out of place is you commenting on something that you are not interested in. Why bother? To show us how stupid we all are and how brilliant and enlightened you are in comparison?
Let me pat you on your back for that!

It is usually the little, least interesting cases that pique my interest. And I hope OP will update us soon, even if it is with a crappy photograph.

Then you're not living. I'd go, in a heartbeat...

Bassplyr is an alright dude. Helped me clarify something I saw a few years ago. Would love to see that green streak across the night sky again!
