As you get older it seems like it's hard to have fun...

Get a hobby.

I walked a couple of miles down a river the other day. Didn't see a soul. Caught a lovely wild pike from the far bank and saw loads of wild animals.

That was truly fun.

I was singing out loud I had so much fun.

Fun is there you just have to find it.

You must become again as little children...

Learn that thing you've always been curious about,
Meditate more,
Discover something new everyday, learn a new word, a new fact, a new quote, anything.
For children everything is new and discover-able.
You only think you've got a handle on what a tree is because you've been there, done that and the mind has an ingrained IMAGE of what a tree is but each tree is as unique as each person is unique.
Take the time to really look and really listen.

In the immortal words of Tom Waits...step right up:

"change your shorts, change your life,
change into a nine-year-old Hindu boy, get rid of your wife..."

IMHO, Attachment to image will bring boredom like no other. You gotta be fresh.

I agree with you. I'm in my mid fifties leading a pretty darn good life in all regards but nothing is much fun anymore. I do believe that's pretty typical as one gets older. I think it's just part of getting older, it's all been done before!
