There is a lot of space...empty space in rural Australia...there is enough room to do pretty much anything without anyone really noticing.....

I admit that the entire place is a mystery that is surrounded in miss information and more mystery. A company that owns it that was registered before colonisation and no longer exists, security guards looking after an old silo supposed to be used to store grain, a NSCT training site opposite and vehicles that dont match the site. Grain needs tip trucks not tankers. Not to mention its WWI and WWII purpose.
The nearest town has about 200 people live in it and none of those work there (I am one of them) and the special inductions for even electricity workers to go on site and work on the power poles.
The sale notice found on here shows it for sale for almost 3 times its value and mentioned enough room for a bunker.
I would just be happy to know whats going on out there.

The lion's head and font of that sign, to me at least suggest that it's a contractor run facility - I couldn't find any govt listings for training facilities up that way, however, it's entirely possible that it's owned by a private entity and leased to the govt. or the entity provides its own training packages there.

Did your mate get a look at what company the guards were from?

Edit: The lion's head emblem is the corporate emblem for this company www.lionsheadexecutiveprotection.com... also the colour scheme and font used on the signage is in keeping with the website and corporate branding it seems.

Now to find out what contract they have here.

I did a search for the lions head logo as well and I believe its just a stock photo. I saw it attached to that website and numerous others including financial institutes, and training gear.

Seen, angrylightbulb.

Although there are a few things that don't add up that are starting to make me doubt the veracity of the OPs story too.

Im not sure of any of it. My friend said the security guards called someone and then he was questioned and had his details recorded and he was released.
To be honest its all odd and i am keeping an open mind about it all but really want to know about the place.

I found this also. Its a company that lists its office location in Temora NSW just 5pkm away. The office is vacant and for lease. Its beside the florist and accountant office. I work just around the corner.

I don't know, I think it's probably someone local trying to setup some sort of training contractor/provider - according to a whois lookup of the website it was only registered last year and the admin and contact emails take you to a generic website builder (check the attached screen grab).

Also, the company wasn't registered until late last year with ASIC, but nothing shows when checking training.gov.au so they aren't registered as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) - which makes it seem quite on the dodge side as anyone conferring any sort of nationally recognised training has to be an RTO (even the Australian Army is a RTO).

Due to this I wouldn't lend much credence to a 'national security/ counter terrorism training facility' being run by these guys. Most of the spooks and that type use Swan Island Training Area 90mins south of Melbourne.There are regional training facilities for the ADF's Tactical Assault Groups East and West in Perth and Sydney.
