The 2016 Special Interests Awards

Made these detailed bar graphs using in Opensecrets.org. I couldn't see how to get the total numbers across all candidates,but I'm hoping you know where the numbers are at easy. They seem to tell some tales.

Sanders & Rubio looked like serious competitors.

Looks pretty close between Jeb Bush & HRC. I knew they were 'the same'!

The Education graph is quite telling,as are the medical industry graphs.

Don't see a dropdown fr "Defense/Weapons", so they must be bundled in with other industries. Strange.

Any thoughts, or additions?

Ohh, that they gave to. Trump is broke, mainly, so whatever he gave he got from someone else.

Education gave Hillary Clinton 10 million dollars? That makes no sense and that is how you answered me.

I would think you meant the candidates gave money to the special interests. makes more sense.

That is why I answered as I did.

Trump doesnt have even close to the amount of money people think he has.

Those numbers are all the industry etc people that donated tot he candidates. You know, Pay-To-Play. Campaign financing.

I am not really sure what you mean to say. Everyone exept oil/gas likes Hillary to some extent?

And so? My mother, may she rest in peace, graduated from the University of California at Berkeley. One of the best schools in the world. I would tell her I was sick so I could wander the campus while she went to class. I was about 12.

I found this tiny library devoted to just Mayan history. On the 2nd floor of a building, looked over by a graduate student. He would let me pick out books and read. It is one of the most beautiful campuses in the world.

You wonder why 'Education' has donated to her? She might not be everyone's cup of tea, but education will not donate to Trump. Why? The ANSWER is EDUCATION.


I'm sorry, but he is not very smart. Most people who are smart know that he is not very smart. We don't want Idiocracy, even if Hillary is not ideal. Trump won't win the Presidency. I am sorry if that lets some people down.

The story I told? it is because the University of California as a whole was suggested as being, in a bad way, a 'special interest' that donated to Clinton. They always donate and they always donate democrat.

I an add a personal portion to a thread if I want to, I think.

I have only recently learned the term 'Alt-Right', but I know who they are. They have been here all the time. They just got a name.



I was wondering why some conservatives were calling Liberals racist. The most illogical and ridiculous thing I had ever heard. It was because they were 'alt rights' trying to spin liberals into what they are. I saw it here. Which was disturbing. Took awhile to figure out.

All orgs that donate to politicians should be classed as "Special Interest Groups" . hey are all looking for returns on their money.
