Four dead in shooting at Cascade Mall in Burlington; suspect not in custody

BURLINGTON, Wash. — At least four people were killed in a shooting at the Cascade Mall in Burlington Friday night, Washington State Patrol confirms. The shooter is not in custody.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Sgt. Mark Francis confirmed to Q13 FOX News that an active shooter was in the mall. The suspect left the scene before police arrived.

I hope so too.They are now reporting someone matching description tried to enter the backdoor of someone's home a short ways away from mall.If he ran and is trying to break in to others homes that is another bad situation.They are also setting up a crisis negotiater.

Live stream states police are still clearing the mall, and believe there was only one shooter. Description of shooter: Hispanic male, wearing gray, last seen walking towards I-5.

there was a time when this would have shocked and disturbed me deeply.

The reports are that he walked into Macy's around 7pm local time and started shooting. I'm going to speculate that this is either going to turn out to be a disgruntled employee/former employee or a jilted/ex/estranged husband/boyfriend.

Here's an aerial view of the mall and an indoor map.

Somebody looking for maximum casualities it seems would have gone in through the main entrance and right into that central area which might be a food court.

I'm wondering if this was a random act or targeted shooting. Gang related, family squabble, crazy ex husband or boyfriend.........

I disagree. I speculate the shooter will have no more than a passing connection to the mall

That's the same photo I'm seeing on Fox News Now Phoenix stream, and I'd call that a black shirt instead of calling it gray. The shirt has a graphic on it, so someone might be able to enhance it. I know of at least two cases where a viewer ID'd a suspect based on their shirt.
