Not being from there or familiar with the city, it's hard to tell with all the different camera angles. I use the scanner and look up streets on a map to get a general idea.

Basically i277 is the inner loop around DT/uptown --big tall buildings, NFL stadium, museums, HQ Duke Power & BofA
very high $$$$ motels & restaurants; tourist attractions

then there is an outer loop i 485, just completed, mostly residential, some rural.

Charlotte is so sprawled that the PD is call Charlotte (the city) Mecklenberg (County's name) PD, (CMPD) if that makes sense.

Reporter just said the governor is going to deploy the National Guard and more officers. Apparently this posted by the governor's official Twitter account.

you know seeing how things are going in this country now with all these violent riots taking place.
a smart capitalist would armor up one of these fire trucks, fill em with mace or pepper spray and sell them to all the big cities.


i guarantee get three or four rolling side by side spraying hundreds of gallons at a time , aint no one gonna hang around.

that was i85 just north of where guy (Scott) was shot

This is i277 the inner loop to Down town--if they stay on the loop -not to much damage ;
if they make it to i77 that's a major trucking hwy thru Charlotte like i85 is

Guess this why they called in the hiway patrol--just guessing

Sounds like they're trying to keep them off the overpass also -- to keep them from throwing rocks onto motorists like last

Video from WCCB-TV in Charlotte showed police in riot gear stretched across a two-lane road confronting protesters at the apartment complex later in the night. Some of the officers flanked the main line on one side of the road.

Some protesters were heard yelling “Black lives matter,” and “Hands up, don’t shoot!” One person held up a sign saying “Stop Killing Us.”
