Big Brother aka, the Clubberment, doesn't give a Rat's Furry butt, H-1Bs pay taxes, that's all uncle Sam cares about Tax Revenue, If people are getting fed up and want something done about this it will have to be via grass roots.

Corporations do not control the VISA program. The government does! If the Feds want to decrease the amount and enforce it they absolutely can, but they don't!

The corporations lobby the corrupt Congress people and they take the payola and increase it. So YES it does have to do with the American government!

Yep , a bunch of folks pulled off the street in India to train . The only job requirement is they can halfway speak and understand English . Even after their Special High Intensity Training are totally clueless on their job. But , they will work 20 hrs for 15 US dollars a day. (no overtime pay , no laws)

As I said, " it has LITTLE to do with the American government." . Sure the government is culpable but not the primary mover in this debacle. It is the corporations following the principles of capitalism that is the engine behind this outsourcing. The government is a weak kneed uncle that since Reagan has had less and less control over the actions of corporations that seek their own profit over the well being of citizens.

For many people their first taste of fast food (junk food) would be a McDonalds, granted when I was a child it was a rare occasion like a birthday party but now there are people so addicted to it they will eat it almost daily, if you look into how fatty food is marketed and they load up the produce with fat for the "comfort bite effect" it is fairly obvious that as a Org they have zero concern about long term effects and it is very much keep the conveyor belt moving.

I am sure we have all see supersize me and granted it was a bit extreme but it is a situation that many people live with.

I current live in a small town in the Philippines where a McDonalds was opened about 4 years ago, the waste line of the local children and youths in that time is shocking, its a 24h store and is rammed.. Sad to see what these people in many cases un knowingly are doing to them self..

Of course personal responsibility is a factor, I am stating that the quality of food that they serve is of a terrible quality and will cause major health issues. McDonalds do not market to high end eaters, they market to people in lower income areas with all the jazz that comes with it. They choose to sell what they do as it brings in the most profit regardless of what that product will do long term to the persons health.

No one is getting ill from eating at their high end Veggie restaurant..

Ethically would I be happy running a business serving what they do, absolutely not.. If people are happy to consume it then that is up to them but I am open to the fact that for many people in society a Large Big Mac meal will be harder to turn down than having to spend time making something healthy..

Hence I am not surprised by the H-1B situation..

Has any fast food location ever forced you , in any way , to stop in buy the food and eat it? A factor ? Yes . the only one.
Of course some folks cant grasp the concept....

Here in Chicago, for decades they had their headquarters in a prime location in the western burbs. It was a nice location that allowed them to pull in people regardless of whether they lived North or South.

They recently announced they are abandoning their beautiful campus to move closer to the city. It's in a location that would make it difficult for anyone who lived the suburbs to commute (it's no where near the commuter rail station).

The end result is many middle age workers with families will effectively lose their jobs due to the location - just to be replaced by a younger employee.
