Transformed...

Transformed

And this light, it turns the very soul of me,
It calls hauntingly...whispers tauntingly,
My tainted blood burns with searing pain,
It reveals the beast, I cannot contain.
His essence runs deep, within my veins.
But my mind and faculties, they remain.

The moon bares witness to my transformation,
Indifferent while I complete, my freakish mutation .
And I rise...slowly from my crouching position,
Stand tall...a baneful, yet somber apparition.
Reborn! No longer what I was before,
I'm a creature of myth...a legend in lore!

And this light, it holds the very life of me,
It yells obscenities...speaks mockingly,
Slow burning embers of my dying mind,
Replaced with thoughts of the instinctual kind.
The beast has broke free from all his confines,
No longer chained to those ties that bind.

The night is my sanctuary, it summons me,
I run into it's depths, abide it eagerly.
Under the vigilant eye, of the pale full moon,
I relish the freedom, that'll end much too soon.
Mere hours I have, until my form will give way,
And when the light beckons me, it's call I'll obey.

The moon bares witness, to my final shape shifting,
After a few short moments, of uncontrollable twisting,
Then I rise....slowly from my mental delusions,
Stand tall...realize it's all been an illusion,
Reborn! I'm all I was before once again,
I am legend, I am lore, I am more, I'm human.
