sometimes when researching the ufo phenomena i come across some very bizarre sightings wich are completely unique
here are some:

Back in an early edition of FT, in the letter pages, someone reported of a childhood experience where, aged about 5 or 6 they couldn't sleep, & went to sleep inbetween mummy & daddy.. In the night the reader was awoken by a cinema screen being projected at the foot of the bed, showing a newsreader reading out some news no child is interested in i'm sure anyway, what gets the childs attention, is when the newsreader announces "and now, the penquin" & the projection shuts down.. The bedroom door then opens & a large penquin figure waddles in over to the side of the bed & threatens to eat the child..

It was the story about the women in the washing room basement of an old apartment complex in Washing State USA who saw a 5 or 6 ft tall orange shrimp in the water hole to the back of the apparently vast and poorly lit basement. Her account appeared in an early addition of FT, and her phone interview seemed oddly convincing. She even said it took a step at her while waving it's antennae. It added a strange creepiness that she had nothing to call the creature until years later when she observed brine shrimp in an aquarium.

Sometime in the 1970s - one witness driving his car near Chard (Somerset) saw a man with a dog walk stright out into the road in front of him. He had no time to slow down and so hit them. He then was suprised to see them both flip over the car as it made contact, and that they looked alot like some sort of cardboard cut-out. As is the usual case with such road 'ghosts', when the motorist stopped to see what had happened, the road behind his car was completely empty.

the problem is what we do with experiences like those? just ignore them? of course not! not only those experiences are fascinating they also brings the question:
why anyone would fake a experience like those? none would believe them
so what cause those experiences? interdimensional visitation? ramdom allucinations? or some thind even weirder?
anyone who knows a story like those please share

I can vaguely recall a story from Scotland involving a floating/talking dog's head outside a window, and it is indeed a good question as to why anyone would make up a story like that.

It's stories like these that point to the possibility that maybe we don't know as much we would like to think

The 5' tall brine shrimp did have the ring of truth to it, if memory after 35 years holds true... happened in Washington State, U.S. if the same memory serves... Mark Chorvinsky (deceased I believe) published it in Strange Magazine and did some legwork on it... before it was published by Fortean Times.

Mark also loved those stories and had an excellent collection.

I was so sure these tales were fun "deviant art" pieces to take one's mind away from the droning crush of modern life... then I experienced some things that changed my mind.

This world is deeply weird on it's most 'normal' day, I have found, but sometimes our constructs break down and "gibbering insanity" is the only reaction... but a too large brine shrimp is the least of it!

These kind of stories feature a lot in FT's 'It Happened to Me' books (eg Here). Just letters from people with weird happenings. Love them sort of stories - think there's about 5 or 6 volumes now - basically compilations of FT's letters pages.

Well worth a read!

I've always had a fondness for high strangeness stories. I think in many ways they are much more illustrative of what might actually be happening with UFOs and time slips and cryptocreatures than the "ordinary" stories of such encounters.

After many decades, I've kind of come to the opinion that these things have something to do with our limited ability to perceive the whole of reality, combined with our limited intelligence. The analogy I've used in the past is trying to explain income taxes to your cat. We as more intelligent beings understand that income taxes are a "real" thing in our lives. A cat has no concept of it, even though it is completely real.

Now understand that as smart as human beings are, there's nothing to say that we're the smartest a creature can ever be. We're necessarily at the pinnacle of intelligence. Imagine an alien that is smarter than humans in about the same way we are smarter than a cat. They could be dealing with all kinds of aspects of "real reality" that we can't perceive or comprehend.

I think these high strangeness events offer us a tiny little glimpse into a broader reality that is so far beyond our comprehension that the best we can do is try to fit the experience into something we can understand. So a UFO becomes a "flying machine" even though it might not really be either of those things. Or an alien becomes a penguin because we comprehend what a penguin is but not some kind of trans-dimensional shadow entity.

This stuff is hard to scientifically test, though. Particularly when we don't have the intelligence to figure it out.

I haven't read about these really oddball cases in awhile, and some are just wild, but I don't judge them untrue, because many of them could be true.
Here's a link to a few more.

Unfortunately, "interdimensional" is a kind of slippery word that doesn't really mean anything. A "dimension" can be made of all kinds of things, including ideas and concepts. In certain ways, every living thing generates its own dimensions, since it is consciousness that evaluates reality and makes it real. Every point of view is a different dimension. Which makes it really hard to analyze and objectify with something like ordinary math.

Jacques Valle's books have a number of these kinds of sightings. He chalked them up to a "control system" at work. Manipulation of our reality by some unknown force for an unknown purpose. I have yet to be convinced of that. Maybe he was ahead of the whole "Matrix -- simulated reality" idea.

I seem to vaguely remember an interview on C2C years ago with a guy regarding skinwalker ranch. My memory is quite hazy on this but he said that he/they lowered a sheep (?) down into a well there. It was frantic and basically full of terror when they fastend it and lowered it down but by the time it was out of sight it went eerie quite.

They then hauled it up only to find that it no longer was a sheep there, but a seal with human eyes looking at them.
