2116 until this all happens? Total BS if you ask me. I can't live that long...

2016 is Boeing's 100th birthday. 2116 will be its 200th. That's why they picked that date. You won't be alive, but maybe your grand kids will be.

It is odd that they say "took us from sea planes to space planes, across the universe and beyond" as in, already did this.

It's not odd. It's Hyperbole. If you can instantly pick up on it when Trump does it, why can't you pick up on it when Boeing does it?

Great ads, OP. Thanks for posting.

I'm sorry you kinda lost me with the Trump thing. I am just focusing on what Boeing has put out on the airwaves. At the :19 mark the clearly announce what they have done over the past 100 years...including going to the stars......just interesting. I hope you enjoy it. Simple, but also intriguing.

Wasn't directed at you. It was a great ad--both of them, but they aren't hinting at any secrets. They already have space planes, so saying they went from sea planes to spaceplanes is perfectly reasonable. "To the stars and across he universe" to a swelling of music is just positive happy talk. It's optimistic. That's a good thing. No need to read any more into it.

I thought technological singularity was going to swallow us all by 2035? Lol

A mis-reading of the term, I think. Kurzweil's idea of the "singularity" is that progress will be so fast that we can't predict it. It's not going to swallow up humans--just make life a lot more interesting--quicker.

I know it's not going to physically swallow us all lol. It's just Sarcasm. However, if technological advances will be moving that fast, we should be at the stars by 2035, not 2116.

Second video.
1:05 mark.
Something is covered.
Has no wheels, or I can't see them.
But then again I haven't been sleeping for 20 hours.

Good catch.....I went back a looked at it a couple of times......the wing or whatever it is that is half covered is very odd. Then fuselage seems to be so long and almost cigar shaped. Who Knows? But I feel that as I said before, they have very subtly let us know that there is more to the story and great things are coming perhaps sooner than later.

Cheers

Think about the last 6 years. Huge strides have been made in civilian vessels that can penetrate the higher atmosphere, a concept plane just flew around the world fuelled only by sunlight. It would seem obvious to me that big companies such as Boeing have invested heavily in R&D and concluded some bright ideas for the future.

2116 might not be so far away, next 10-15 years we could see private enterprises paying a visit to the Moon, Mars and beyond.

A few hundred £/$ could buy you the equipment to photograph the edges of space. Space has never been so accessible. The big long standing aeronautic based companies need to stand up and do something or they'll eventually be left behind, a civilian aerospace industry is beginning and the money in it will dwarf a military based aerospace industry. Consider ships, the real money was always in building military vessels till dedicated shipping companies came around. These days the only money in military naval vessels is the equipment put into them, Imperial Japan converted large ships into aircraft carriers. Minus stealth no reason exists for a militaristic naval vessel to cost 3x more than an oil tanker, minus the equipment of course.

And what more of a "singularity" can there be for humanity than contact with other beings? Talk about a leap...!

All good and valid points Ray1990. There is much information floating out on the internet. It has got to be vetted. However, call it wishful thinking on my part.....but all of those trillions of dollars in Black Projects, many of course filtered out to commercial companies so congress would have no authority to go after a private company, even a CIA created company. Like I said, I just thought it interesting that Boeing came out with such a bold statement, which by the way I love. I just have a feeling.......we have been out there beyond our solar system for at least a decade. But that's just me.

Cheers

Don't get me wrong the wishful side of me thinks that too and as I said in terms of development private companies are doing great and showing a lot of promise.

We know the military were doing what private companies are doing now 40 years ago and to compare to nautical terms again, late 1600-1750 saw huge advances in military vessels but eventually a time came that civilians were teaching those old school developers how it's done... Things like cladded hulls, ice breaking and mounting an engine on board. Sometimes the major breakthroughs are done by the smaller hands and then adopted by the big chief.

As an advert it's definitely worth reading into.

Way sooner than advertised!

Last commercial from Boeing kept showing hexagons. They have a super hush-hush garphene reinforced airframe facility called Black Diamond that we are not supposed to know about. What we see now is Wright Bros. era stuff. What IS the X37-B about?

Lockheed did say the T4 compact fusion reactor was coming. Even had a picture of the plasma at the Solve For X vid. Nothing much since then except funding continues and they claim a flash plasma created. Put the 10 - 20 years before black goes gray to white... reason to believe the magic triangles are ours like others have pointed out

to op!

Of course they already did this. The X-37 is a Boeing built space plane, which flew over 6 years ago. And they are producers of major components of numerous satellites,So what's odd?

I have seen this commercial a few times and I find it very intriguing. i realize that it describes their accomplishments and a focus to the future. However, as they get into the Starship discussion, at least for me, it was less than subtle that we may already be there......out into new worlds. I found it to be a great watch and made me think about the rumors of a secret space program. Maybe we are already out there? What do you thinK? Pretty cool commercial though.
Enjoy

Just Wait

This second one is just a bonus.....I found it to be a very Patriotic portrayal. Enjoy
No Small Dream

Did you catch "TO THE EDGE OF SPACE", In the second video? Because that's as far as we can go.

Yes, I did indeed catch that. However, it is my assumption, that they aren't letting the cat out of the whole bag.......There is enough in those two videos, just with the commentary that takes things, IMHO to a new level. Maybe wishful thinking on my part.

But pretty cool 'open' commercials and maybe a glimpse of a slip? I dunno.

Peace
