Will there be an America
To come home to?

Or will the bombs
Do what they want to?

Evil personas
In positions of power.

Unsullied trolls
In their Ivory Tower.

Will there be an America
To come home to?

Or will the oligarchs
Do what they want to?

The flames of war
Burn our founding fathers.

The flames of war
Consume our sons and daughters.

Will there be an America
To come home to?

Or are we doomed
To do what they want us to?

Your right we are living in interesting times. I really like the way it came from your head.

I want to write a poem with only word compounds.

Funny thing here. I'm reading Love and War by John Jakes, the sequel to North and South. It deals with the civil war. This poem applies to that time period as much as it does to this one.

Skid Mark

Sadly, it seems it is all to applicable to many periods in our history even right from the beginning. Thanks for reading Skid.

Thanks for writing it.

Yeah, it does seem to fit every time period. That's sad, really.
