Some of the best advice.

Agreed!

Number 8 is priceless! Perhaps the best on the list.

My first date idea would be...

A picnic in the mountain wilderness or just a lush, ethereal forest.. or a state park.
With a red & white checkered picnic blanket and a proper basket with a pot of green tea and some hors' doevres like sushi or tacos.. a vintage bottle of red wine, and some herbs.

I wish I could do that
That sounds lovely. Sadly. No car. And well, young people. People have such lovely ideas though!

I have no car. Am -- and well, asking a younger girl out. Despite knowing her parents, being good friends with her brother, it is impossible. I'm thinking of a day out at Central Park. Hey! It is nature and plenty of places to walk around. Need to learn to bake a quick and tasty good.

I'm also figuring that when I do ask her out and she does say yes, does she see it in the eyes of a date. I have no mind for this especially now.

I was thinking of a muffin/cupcake(not sure what the differences are) with bits of banana. It tastes delicious! They're small and simple. There was something else, but I don't know the name of it. It has apples or blueberries in it though. Bit larger.

Ok strange as life is. I was sitting on the beach. A cute girl walked up and told me I am burning. She wanted to put sunblock on my back. I said no that's ok.

We talked for a while and I asked her if she has a bike and would like to peddle to Marina del Ray to see the fireworks. She said yes and she lives 3 blocks from me. She asked me is this a date. I said no date just two people getting to know each other. Lol

a nice meal and then some time to talk, a coffee shop or a walk, a movie is not really good because you just sit there looking at a screen for 2 hours and dont really get time to interact. Although a funny movie might be good. First dates are tough.

Yes, first dates seem tough to think of. To break the ice and whatnot. I think a day at the park is a nice and simple thing to do for a first one. At least for a good portion of it.

So anyway, I had been lifting weights alot, looking pretty good. I took my kids to the beach. Rio Del Mar in Santa Cruz. We were staying there, just up the hill walking distance. There were a couple gorgeous ladies staying at a house there owned by ones parents. My kids were playing with the cute tall ones two sons, and I asked her to watch them for a few while I jogged on the beach. She said yes, so I took off strutting my stuff, and came back steaming like a quarter horse. The tall brunette was impressed, and stood by me like we were together. She was absolutely fine. She was probably 5-10 or 5-11, and mostly legs. She invited me and my sons to a marshmallow roast and fire on the beach, but she wasnt there that night. I found her friend a day later who said she had gone back to southern cali . I reluctently and nervously gave the friend my number and name and asked her to deliver the info, and she agreed. About 6 weeks later I got the call. We would talk for hours, late at night. I found out that she was living in the High dessert in Ridgecrest. She belonged to Screen Actors Guild, and had done many commercials and a few movies. You guys have likely all seen her before. She did the Subaru commercials with Paul Hogan ( Crock Dundee)

So anyway, she decided to visit me for a 3 day weekend. I pulled out all the stops and set things up properly. I had menues set up, and all kinds of dates and activities ready. We sat on my patio, and dined on shrimp coctails in tall special glasses, While sipping Louis Rorderer Champagne, in artist made champagne glases. I had my next door neighbor hop the fence, and grab my guitar, and serenade her while we sipped champagne, with his own original top quality songs. She sat at my tall bar type patio table with tiny sparkle lights in the umbrella above, listening to the music as I barbequed Bacon wrapped fillet Mignons. She loved every minute of it. Needless to say , we made mad passionate Love that night. The next morning we got up and she made strawberry crepes for breakfast. She was French Canadian, and spoke fluent french. I put two bikes in the back of my truck and we headed to the American river east of Sacramento. We rode for miles aloing the American river, and stopped for cookies and juice at the American river college . After the ride we loaded the bikes back up and drove into Old Sacramento. To our surprise, it just happened to be the Sacramento Jazz festival weekend. We walked through old Sac, and wandered into a wonderful resturant with live music. We sat with another couple, and shared abottle of great wine and a lovely meal. We did naughty things on the hiway on the way back home, and had a real fun time. It was a great weekend. She and I are still sweeties and though we kind of lost contact for a few years, have since reconnected on Facebook and Love each other dearly.
That was our first date

You know, when you're nervous about asking a girl out on a date, and you're wondering what exactly to do on that date and then you see someone post this as their first date and it simply can't be topped. Sounds epic!

a reply to: ksiezyc Remember, I was nervous too, but I reluctantly made myself take action. She took over, in a way when she called and went out of her way to put me at ease. She hept the conversations going, and never wanted to hang up. She helped my confidence, even though she was an actress, and I was just a steel worker

Well it sounds like the two of you had a great time. "Just a steel worker", oh come on it isn't the job/occupation that matters, but the person! I suppose everyone gets nervous. Still. My main point was, all dates are lame next to that epic one that you two shared!
