It was a Muslim. He directed me to look up, if I wanted to, the website that is all about Islam. I think you missed part of my post stating that. And I chose the word proselytize appropriately, because it simply means to try to convert someone to one's own faith. Maybe he wasn't trying to do that, but it seemed like it. Otherwise why was he bringing it up?

Even if I trust the veracity of those accounts (almost all of them are from Ibn Hisham's biography, which isn't considered to be part of the Islamic scripture), you seem to be jumping about. Stay on target. Your claim is that Islam is Convert or be killed. You repeated that after your post to me as well. None of those killings were as a result of "They didn't convert so now kill them". None of the Quran verses back up "Convert or kill them".

If your argument is simply "Muhammad had some people killed", then I'm sorry, but when Jesus returns, he's literally going to slaughter ALL his enemies (so many so that no people on earth will not mourn) and rule the entire world with an iron rod.

Or if I wasn't really ever interested in Coronation Street. The druids DO actually exist today, but they don't really have anything to do with the original druids.

Just like I have been telling him.
He will not admit it but the reason most slag off Islam is it is a rival religion to their own.
If people kept their religion to themselves the world would be a better place.

Oh, I see. Yeah, I totally understand proselytizing which is why I was rather surprised. I think it is indeed the best word for this. I mentioned Missionaries because what they normally do is go around in pairs (possibly groups) in an organised manner and with the sole purpose of gaining converts. I’ve never heard of Muslims doing that, even if it’s just somebody on their own, so it’s quite new to me.

I personally haven't met many Muslims that don't get preachy about their beliefs with intensity. After a while it gets me nauseous. I'll leave it at that.
