I thought I would start a thread (for those of us interested) where we can watch the live coverage of the EU Referendum happening in the UK today, and a place for us to discuss things as they're happening.

This vote could be a huge game changer on the global stage, so I think it's safe to say that there will be hundreds of thousands of us watching it closely on the edges of our seats today.

I know I will be !

Polls open at 7am GMT - which is in about a half hour from now from where I'm located (central standard time).

Youtube live feed (with a countdown to the opening)

Hopefully the link above will be a good live coverage of everything from start to finish. If not, I'd appreciate it if anyone who can find a better live streaming newsfeed to post it here.

Good luck to all our friends across the pond, and no matter which way the vote ends up going, I hope it turns out to be the right one... for all our sakes.

Now get out there and vote everyone, the world awaits !

LOL.

Personally speaking, I hope they vote out.

I have a feeling the EU is going to collapse with huge *thud* sound in the very near future, and this could very well be the UK's only chance to jump from that sinking ship before it's too late.

But I guess we'll have to wait and see how the majority of Brits feel about it.

Great idea for a post. I have no dog in this fight, but I'm interested in seeing how this goes. Thanks for giving me a place to follow along.

Well, I was waiting for someone to set up a spot for us to watch the coverage and then I thought to myself:

"Self, why not just make a thread, you silly goose you ?"

I never start threads... too shy.

*snicker snicker*

I don't start theads either. Just the one when I was desperate for some answers.

Do you know when their polls close? When can we expect a result?

"They" as in our crazy pals across the pond.

From what I understand it's going to be a long night.

Polls close at 10pm GMT tonight in the UK. Which means 4am CST for me (tomorrow/today, not in 3 hours from now)... I haven't gone to bed yet so it's still thought of as "tomorrow" for me.

I hate these stupid time zones.

Awesome - thankyou!
Its just started too, showing the polling area and people going in and out.

I hope they vote OUT!

I think, it will be an out vote, very close. the EU and UK will negotiate.. the UK will remain in but with very different terms!

If I thought it made the slight bit of difference, I'd vote. I'm 'crazy' for that reason.

I see the whole thing as a double edged sword, no matter what happens, we'll always get screwed.

I'm awaiting the phrase "This is what the public voted for".

I've no interest in participating in the sideshow. None of the politicians on either side of the argument want what's best for you.

It's like visiting Jungle Boy at the fairground to discover he's less the heroic Tarzan and more of a Down's Syndrome boy in a glass tank, playing with himself among the potted plants.

I would feel real shame lending support to any part of our political system.

Yes, I hope that if the vote turns out as "remain" that the UK will at least lay down new terms for themselves so that they have more say over their sovereignty, rather than letting the suits in Brussels make all the decisions for them.

Multinational corporate monopoly and special interests are getting way too ugly these days... it's not the same world since the UK first entered into the EU back in the 70's !

Why is it RT, the livefeed?

I have a feeling, tomorrow we'll know. And it would be sad if the UK leaves. But I also believe it will cause some disturbances, no matter what the outcome may be.

It's the only link I could find where I didn't end up with a message that said "Sorry, but you cannot watch this video from your country".

Yup.

At some point I'm going to have to go to bed tonight (this morning) myself.

But I've yet to find a live video newsfeed on their site... maybe they'll start a live newsfeed video later in the evening ?
