Disney remaking Pete's Dragon

So I just caught the trailer on tv and my wife and I are really looking forward to this. I have fond memory's of watching the original when I was younger and the new one looks beautiful. Anyone else watch Pete's Dragon growing up?

Loved the original one and still watch it once in a while. From what I read and seen this one appears to be different than the original and not a musical this time around. Still plan to take my 4 y/o daughter so she can enjoy this version and i still have my version to hold on to.

Yes I've seen this as a child.
The line "Don't roast me" sticks out in my mind. It's been forever since I've seen the original. I was 3 when it came out. But I saw it on Disney cable in the 80s. I remember crying by the end for some reason.
If they do a good enough job, I might get a tear again. Nostalgia 😉👍

I love the original. I used to put it on for my kids and sing along. That was a wonderful movie. My sons are now 25 and 26, I used to ask them, ? " You wanna watch Pete Gwagon? "

seen it about 300 times as a kid.

I think this is one of the few remakes of my youth I fully embrace. the original is far outdated but what kid doesn't want to imagine having their own dragon friend.

Another thing they should consider remaking would be The Explorers...but maybe cut out the uber cringe alien part with actual good and well thought out alien contact. (...erm..spoilers?)

So since the advent of cgi, i've thought this is one they may revisit........and i was dead set against (love the original)......

That said, having seen the trailer, it looks superb and one i need to take my girls to see because they would love it......obviously it isn't for me!

Loved it and all the songs. I drive my wife mad although she has a soft spot for my Elliott impression.

Will he still have....the head of a camel, the neck of a crocodile, and the ears of a cow?
