I read in an Eypgtian magic book decades ago it was with large tuning forks... not only to fracture but to vibrate the sand to move the blocks.

I cannot verify such... although frequency of a voice can shatter glass from a distance, and resonance makes specific patterns of sand above a speaker depending on frequency.

Resonance not required. Also, the shape of the thing you put the sand on will affect the pattern made. It's really a simple exercise in wave interference.

Moderators can't be everywhere...nor should they imho. I think self moderation is effective..... If you see a post on ATS that is upsetting mentally assign it zero weight and move on... don't allow the statement to alter your conversation or focus...at least that helps me from time to time.
