A powerful array of the Republican Party’s largest financial backers remains deeply resistant to Donald J. Trump’s presidential candidacy, forming a wall of opposition that could make it exceedingly difficult for him to meet his goal of raising $1 billion before the November election.

Interviews and emails with more than 50 of the Republican Party’s largest donors, or their representatives, revealed a measure of contempt and distrust toward their own party’s nominee that is unheard of in modern presidential politics.

...

Several mentioned Mr. Trump’s own fortune, suggesting that if he was as wealthy as he claimed, then he should not need their assistance.

The emboldened part above is the crux of the matter to me. If Trump is worth $10 billion, he could fund the entire campaign himself. The guy's 69 years old. People are making a big deal about Sanders' age, but Trump should be retired as well.

You can't take it with you. If winning the presidency is his dream, wouldn't now be the time to lay it on the line?

Speaking of being retirement age, Hillary Clinton is 68 years old, Donald Trump is 69 years old, and Bernie Sanders is 74 years old. What are these people taking to be able to campaign 24/7 all over the country?

When a typical person is that old, it's sometimes tough for them just to watch TV all day.

And Trump is in the best shape. Doesn't drink doesn't smoke, doesn't treat Vets like used old dogs that can no longer serve the 1%, and doesn't cheat the tax payer out of an honest wage.
