F-22 and B-52 fly-over Lafayette Escadrill, Paris, France

Well now we know why the Raptors were departing for France today.

The question is, did they return to Lakenheath or remain in France?

There's two drop-dead beautiful photos on the Aviationist site Of the B-52 over Paris with the Eiffel Tower in the background and a shot of the fly-over from above. Both great pictures.

Oddly enough I am 90% positive I spotted a B-52 flying north over Myrtle Beach but was driving and couldn't snap or look too closely. The size of the contrails and angle/front mounting of the wings were what made me assume that's what it was.


The Aviationist had great shots for sure. Wish we still had the budget to do these kinds of flyovers more often in the states. Watching/hearing/seeing these powerful machines really is awe-inspiring and comforting.
