So, this is the same admin. who doesn't want more walls for the US/Mexico border, but no problem assisting other countries to do so. But they excoriate Trump for the mere suggestion. My head is about to explode.

Horchani said the project was made possible through financial assistance from Germany and the United States.

The announcement of the Defense Ministry barrier was made after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump suggested that he would build an effective barrier along the U.S./Mexico border once he occupies the white House. He was criticized by Democrats and immigration advocates for proposing a project that they believe would be both expensive and ineffective.

Foreign aid, the US loves to give it away. What else is new?

I agree. The U.S. always has the money when it come to foreign aid, military conflicts, military hardware and bases but when it comes to helping out it's own citizens, they're broke! Is it any wonder why the majority of Americans are sick of our established government representatives?

Vote Trump.

It's time to start kicking ass and chewing bubble gum if this doesn't change in the next four years.

Maybe it will be a way to test new technology that can be used on our own border fences.

The last system we tried was unsuccessful.

We had a 620 billion dollar military budget and our bases and presence around the world kept every nation in NATO safe.

I consider that forgein aid.

If you think NATO is about keeping NATO nations safe your missing out on history. Before NATO every global war on earth originated in Europe between great powers. Everything from the Napoleonic was to WW1 and 2. NATO from its start was know as the alliance to keep the Americans in, the Russians out and the Germans down.

To put this in perspective Russia has an economy the size of Mexico. With out the US commitment to NATO a nations in Europe would begin to massively rearm and many of them have bigger economies than Russia. We would also have dozen new nuclear powers. Whatever the US pays into NATO is cheap compared to dealing with a global conventional and nuclear arms race. Leaving NATO would set the US up to pay a terrible price down the road.

As for the OP Tunisia built a sand wall with water motes and is adding surveillance devices. And it is only 100 miles long. It is to assist Tunisia's military from stopping large movements of ISIS forces from crossing in that area. The rest of Tunisia's borders are open. If you think 100 miles of sand and water is going to stop illegals at the US border I am sure you can get some crowd funding to pay for it. All you need is dirt and water and some shovels.
