Former students of Trump schools vent their rage and disbelief in newly revealed letters of complaint compiled by the Texas attorney general

www.thenation.com...

“I paid 12000.00 for a real estate course in December 2008,” wrote an Anaheim, California, resident in a complaint that was filed with Florida’s Attorney General in January 2010 and later forwarded to Texas’s attorney general. “I received nothing. I have called repeatedly to get a refund from this company. Every time I call I can only speak with the front person that answers the phone.

Here’s a guy who suppose to be a billionaire. SO fine; create a good and credible school, you have billions of dollars.

You can’t take the time and money to actually create a certified, bona fide educational institution with REAL TEACHERS AND REAL ACCREDIDATION.

NO, you go create this scam school and bilk hundreds of middle class people who you now claim you want to help.

I think this is the prime proof Trump is a fraud. He ran a typical scam where when caught they would move out of a state to another scam location and open up.

It turns out Trump not only created the fake Trump University but also something called Trump Institute which was as scam ridden as the fake university.

This former student’s lament is one of more than a hundred complaints against Trump University and its affiliated company, the Trump Institute,

I guess people should think twice before buying anything with "Trump" labeled on it. To be honest I heard his stakes weren't that good. But that's just opinions. When it comes to something like this, I think people should expect to be ripped off. I mean "Trump University"? Is there a Vince McMahon college for pro-wrestling now. And I'm not talking about NXT.

Any idiot with two brain cells knew Trump University was an upmarket spin on the old late night TV real estate seminars like Carlton Sheets and the rest of the real estate seminar scammers.

Trump probably just sold his licensing rights to a company to use his name. After all, he is the most well known RE developer so it makes sense. He also did the same thing with mortgages. There was a Trump Mortgage Company at one point that shut down after barely a year. Any idiot knew Trump had nothing to do with the mortgages.

This is like saying Michael Jordan was personally involved in exploiting Chinese manufacturing workers making his shoes.

That's utter BS!

So everybody’s not as smart as you.

Does that mean they should be fleeced by a scam artist? People might have had faith in his name and he abused that.

If you say their dumb and should have known

WELL SO SHOULD HAVE TRUMP!

A sucker born every minute. Everyone wants to believe they can get rich quick - especially in real estate.

Trump didn't give 2Fs. His business is licensing his name. Someone probably came to him and said, hey, people would pay to go to Trump RE seminar. Here is a $5 million if you let us use your name.

The fact of the matter is there are a lot of people who are in fact stupid or get caught up in brands. Why would I buy a Trump steak? What is the connection between Trump and steaks? NOTHING. But there are a lot of people who recognize his name and thus believe a Trump steak might be special.

Actually no.

Dunno about that mate, I got my Trump tie a little bit before Trump entered politics.

They had GOBS of them at Burlington Coat Factory, a discount re-seller of back stock the major department stores can't sell. It's 100% silk, but made in China. It's actually a pretty nice tie. Don't get his banker's dress shirts (with the white colar/cuffs) -- they're glued on and the shirts wrinkle worse than a brown paper bag.

My tie:

It even has his fake coat of arms that Scotland was...'up in arms' over:

And ah yes, where it was made and what it's made of:

Agreed, Also I have a feeling many of the complaints come from the individuals inability to follow through with the things they were taught at the Trump University. My college was unaccredited and in it's first year of classes when I attended. It's approval rating was very low amongst those who didn't complete the program, big surprise I know, but it wasn't because the school was bad (It was amazing), it was because these kids who dropped out couldn't hack it.

They then turned around and demanded back their money on the grounds that the school wasn't any good.

You get what you put in out of most things in life.

What exactly are these "students" complaining about? They're not billionaires? Lol

Is this even an accredited school?

Sounds like Trump's involvement went no further than having his name on the place anyway.

Do people attending George Washington University bitch that George Washington is to blame if they don't learn as much as they thought they should?

Another weak empty desperate argument against a Trump presidency.

Apparently you don't understand that you can be an equity partner and have little to no involvement in a business. This is common among people who either license their name or invest in companies. Trumps name is merely for marketing and he got a piece of the profits for allowing his name to be used.

Michael Jordan is an equity partner in several restaurants here in Chicago. No one is stupid enough to think he is in the kitchen cooking. He allows his name to be used and may put up some cash to start the restaurant. Nothing more. The other partners are actually the business owners and running the place.

Trump Ties? Again, nothing more than a licensing agreement. Remember Jerry Garcia ties? These types of agreements are common among anyone whose name has any kind of brand equity. Every two bit pop singer has a perfume or cologne line at Macys.

I think Trump is somewhat of a buffoon, but the attempts to try to hang this stuff on him is down right comical to me.

And it's not that you couldn't be correct, it's that the face evidence suggests completely otherwise in that regard and you just give Trump the benefit of the doubt when the internet suggests literally the opposite of your suggestion 'that is so obvious'.

Just because it could be another person doesn't make it a good default arguement it is...seems like you're bias to make the claim without even checking the simpler sources. Otherwise you wouldn't have worded it so loosely the first time.

Just because Jordan didn't make Nike doesn't mean Jay-Z didn't start his own Vodka. And just because something could be unaffiliated doesn't mean it wasn't suggested by them in the first place.
