UFOs were seen flying in and out of 'a major underwater alien base' near Guantanamo Bay almost 50 years ago, according to bizarre claims of a former US Marine.

The ex-Marine has come forward to reveal what he and his comrades experienced in 1968 to 1969 while station at the Guantanamo Bay Naval base.

Although the dates he put down 'are a shot in the dark', he recalls 'heavy UFO traffic over and around the base' that were '50 feet to 100 feet across'

'All of us Marines were amazed at the amount of UFO activity over and around this base,' the witness said. 'Virtually every night UFOs were flying overhead with altitudes of less than 300 feet.'

Most of the sightings were near the fence line of the base

'Most of these UFOs were approximately 50 to 100 feet across, but to the naked eye came off as a dull, hazy hull with a small red light trailing behind it,' he said.

'When I stood guard duty on the south side of the base, I witnessed on many, many nights UFOs landing and taking off out of the ocean.'

'There were large blue lights moving around after their landing in the ocean and then slowly dimming down as they obviously descended deeper.'

While monitoring his post, he witnessed several UFOs flying around the area night after night – 'landing and taking off out of the ocean'. After watching the ships take off and land, he assumed there had to be a major underwater UFO base in the Guantanamo Bay.

The witness recalled one event that he said was 'most exciting', which he observed while standing guard at the main gate of the base, reports Open Minds.

Around 7 pm, the former Marine stepped out of the guardhouse, looked over the fence at an empty guardhouse on the other side of the base and saw an enormous white cloud with blue flashing lights near the ground.

He remembers seeing the UFO that looked like a 'big beautiful cloud with a blue and white pulsating light' quietly hovering over their heads.
A few minutes later the silence was broken by someone yelling 'get the hell out of there'.

A sergeant was yelling from the observation tower, ordering them to vacate the area.

The Marine and other soldier walked towards the barracks just 200 feet away, which allowed them to observe the action from a safe distance.

They saw Intelligence officers pull up to the scene with what looked like a film crew that recorded the alien vehicle while it hovered for about three hours before shooting off into the west.

'The UFO traveled about quarter of a mile, stopped for a moment, then like a bullet, shot straight up in the air until it disappeared,' he said.

'I would love to go back there just to see if the UFOs are still showing up.'

'The dates that I have put down is a shot in the dark because that was 50 years ago.'

So that was the first story...now I didn't think anything of Gitmo to house such ET information...but then I am wondering if this has anything to do with this new conspiracy...of Obama wanting to shut down the Gitmo Detention facility and use it for other purposes instead of interrogation?

These quotes here are from Obama...now what we know about the MSM is that they only tell you what you are programmed to hear...which are lies. Obama speaks in half truths...that we know.

Using prisoners as a scape goat may be an excuse to close the facility and re-purpose it for TOP Secret activities maybe related to UFO's or experimentation.

Politics and military don't mix...and if the truth came out what surrounds GB, who knows what would actually be found. Just my two cents.

The story that I was working on about UFOs seen in Cuba didn't work out.

It started in early May when Scott Corrales picked up a story from Ovnivision, which got it from Terra Net in Chile, about an American researcher named Mike Birds having visited Cuba and learned about some UFO happenings there. Scott passed it on to his network of people, one of them being me. I passed it on to half a dozen others who I thought would be interested.

One of them passed it on to still others. One of THEM responded with an email to both my guy and me, even though he didn't know me. It included an attachment of an email he had sent to some friends on September 23, 2000, saying a flurry of UFOs were seen over the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay in 1958 or 1959, AND that jets were sent up to intercept them. In doing so, he said, they encountered huge mother ships....(more story continued...

That being the case...and where GB is always making headlines, would you NOW see a reason behind government wanting to shut down the detention center to keep people from wanting to research about the facility that would potentially lead to a compromise of Top Secret data leaked to public? Just a thought.

Why does NASA have to airbrush anything out of their photos when they can simply choose not to acknowledge that they have any photos to begin with?
The rest of the story, well it makes for a good story, is plausible that is the real reason the US has kept a foothold there but then there is the mention of the soldier being on the lookout for the "Martian Crafts" which, if identified would then not be UFO's anymore. How did he know they were Martian? Starting to sound, not so plausible so now I've got to sit on the fence here and, with as open a mind as possible, going to wait and see what comes of this.

Who knows, this may tie in with the man from NASA who lost his job recently, maybe a disclosure was in the works.

Anyhow, it is a good find and I like a good story, especially when UFO's are in the mix.

Well, maybe he will, but he probably won't. Hilary will want to keep it when she becomes Commander-in-Chief.

I hear you, it does seem strangely connected somehow or at least me brain is really trying to make it so.
I have not had time to look for new UFO related stories and you, along with a few other ATS'ers here, have pushed these things right into my view. All I can say for now is thanks as I will be keeping a watch on whatever may develop from your thread here.

I would have reason to believe that when working on a military base all personal are denied to carry any media devices, including cameras, to prevent any illegal documentation of the facility. This should be an obvious reason why he was unable to take a picture, you would think???

Interesting, I could not even speculate on this but I do believe the story.

The deep trench look's like a good spot for latteral tunnels to be build into the underground interior of the island.

And the thousands of Cuban civilians that have worked there have no stories??

just a load of pure hokum.

as many U.S. service members, Marine and Navy personal who have been stationed at GITMO through the years, there should and i dare say would be more than just the few stories that there are about the base and UFO's.

my youngest brother was a corpsman at GITMO, he never saw a thing while stationed there.
and i knew many Marines, during my enlistment that were stationed on GITMO, not one ever said a thing about UFO's even during our drinking binges.

Honestly, wouldnt surprise me. Ive seen with my own eyes enough to know that this is a real possibility.

There were legitimate sightings back then. Though, I think, whatever they were, have either left or ceased.

So stories do date back to the 1950's through 1960's...just you never know if some key witnesses were ever killed before they told their stories to the public.

Yes, he promised to close it but the Republicans as usual have opposed it all the way. Obama started the lowering of sanctions with Cuba and restoration of relations which is great for America, but a word to everyone else - go as quickly as you can if you want to enjoy the place.
