Hmmm... ATS members being concerned with a holiday made up so we can all have chocolates and sex? I usually refer to valentines day as 'International prostitution day'. You all seem to see this day through rose-colored glasses with little transparent hearts on the front. This is a holiday created by corporations, so guys can pick a girl, give her a gift and pray to the God of getting some, that their ploy will work.

Don't bat an eye at this day, single, happily married or 3 times divorced. Valentines day does not need your money, attention or thoughts. Like so many holidays before it, it was meant to be about love... But now it's about money.

I hope I didn't bring a negative tone into this, simply a realistic one

Actually I see it like a hallmark card advertising. I prefer to show my kindness every day of the year. No need to put a date on it like taxes.

But chocolate is awesome. Chocolates also help my migraines. Ermm. What is sex again? 😂

For those alone on valentines day, just remember its just another day. A day humans created, an idea a concept.
You are human right? then make up your own day that fits around you.. and enjoy every second of it

I think we should create a world wide Singles Day, where establishments have singles only dinner and dance events, singles could give cards or something to other singles (maybe with contact details) etc. With lots of moneymaking and socialising to be had, I am surprised it is not already an annual event.

I won't be alone. I'm going to introduce a bottle of Black Velvet to a bottle of Mountain Dew and we'll all party together.

Seems kinda redundant with the amount of dating sites, speed dating events and singles parties already around.

Furthermore, Valentines Day isn't specifically aimed at people in relationships, I think it is also supposed to be a day on which singles can make their romantic feelings known towards other singles.
