I'm smart
I'm generous
I'm understanding
I'm empathetic
I'm sympathetic
I'm caring
I'm gentle
I'm funny
I'm tough
I'm realistic

Negatives

I'm opinionated
I'm argumentative
I'm ignorant (when I think i'm right)
I'm manipulative
I'm short tempered
I'm an alcoholic (probably more just dependant)
I'm a hypocrite - Always do what I say not what I do.
I'll laugh at stuff I shouldn't laugh at
I'm a quitter
I've got amazing potential but don't act on any of it.

Basically I'm lazy, and I'm content being lazy and not trying. I've always been like this, I'm over 40 and am kinda still the same.

I have a started voluntary work at Macmillan, palative care for the terminally ill. I really care about making someone's day better if I can. I think this is my calling card, but still feel I've wasted who I am and what I can do.
I suck, i just hope helping others in need can save me.
I've wasted my life.
Maybe this should be a rant.

Welcome to the club.

You have seen people for what they are (in your retrospect)

No one can understand you and you are a lone wolf in this reality.

The sheep are mere sheep.

Thanks dude, I think? Sounds like you can relate to what I'm feeling.
I'm guessing the more I put out and help, the better I will feel. I like helping prople. Will it stop me from disliking who I am? Probably not, but at least I can do good whilst being an arsehole

I broke away from alcohol dependency, but pretty much everything else paints a picture of me, too.

Take solace, many fit those negatives, not many fit those positives.

The most difficult thing in this life (imo)

Is relating to other people. Its difficult at times to relay in words how you really feel.
but just express how you see it.

Dont feel ashamed or embarassed for its all just a learning curve.
I would love to put all politicians into exile...sadly my actions alone will not achieve this.

BUT...if collective conciousness is true then this is just an emotional experience and we will all meet up at the end.

We all put on our pants the same way each morning; we are all fighting battles within our own lives that no one else knows.

Don't beat yourself up too bad OE's. Volunteering is a good start.

Helping to heal others can help heal yourself.....

It's always nice to get your karma out and dust it off once and a while.

Different reasons.
Some too personal to share... For now at least.

But with an addition of wanting to be sober, getting into writing more often, little things like that.
Making music as well.

I didn't like what I became, I made a vow to not be what I wouldn't want to put up with in others around me.

I still have the occasional drink, but I try and make it a special occasion, or when someone I care for or have been influenced by passes away.

It's difficult mate.
You have to want it, and need it to happen.

There really isn't anything wrong with being lazy. Personally, I am attempting to elevate it to an art form. There is no good reason to "work hard." That's just the old protestant work ethic that employer's try to cultivate. It's also a trap for your ego to try to "accomplish" something and make something of yourself.

Now I have no patience with people who do not take care of their own selves. No one else should shoulder the burden of supporting you, so in that sense you need to pay your own way. It's beyond that which I think is unnecessary and really counterproductive. You don't really need new cars and McMansions because, like Thoreau said, when you own a house the house winds up owning you.

So go ahead and BE lazy--and put some effort into it!

Im hearing you.

But its so very bloody hard.

In my daily life im seeing so many homeless young people on the streets
laying in ally ways and outside sainsburys.

God it makes me ill i feel for these people and I think you or I could end up in that predicament.

I hate to judge people but you know yourself its easily done.
If I had the MONEY i would help them all
and maybe that would be my downfall.
Its certainly kicked me in the knackers over the years...

It comes down to to trust...not people but your own judgement.

I like your honesty about yourself. Not everyone is a big achiever and ambitious goal-setter in mundane life and if not, one tends to beat oneself up over it because there is the constant, nagging feeling of not measuring up to the typical standard of being ultra-productive and ultra-busy in today's world. As a result of that it can motivate one to look for a higher reason (read - spiritual) to one's purpose for being on planet at this time.

Good luck with the volunteer work! I'm sure you will learn and experience much!

I can say the same man. I dont suck and neither do you.
You are not dead yet. 40?..,..pffft.

When you are like a baby again, you are old, until then you are just not young. Dont worry though, old age doesnt last very long from what I can tell. LOL

You didnt waste your life, it took you longer to make a more serious commitment to true excellence.

your assessment sounds like just about everyone.

Welcome to the club (although I don't really drink much more than a few times a year). So I suck a little less, i guess.
