Large parts of Queensland (80%!) has been drought declared, but for some there has been some recent respite.

I think this photo speaks volumes of the relief it brings...

Put a smile on my face.

Happy new year.

Bloody Aussies - always have to be different. Up here, we've got more rain than we need or want. Down there and you're calling it a 'Christmas gift.' I swear you just do it to be awkward.

ETA - are those two kids trying to bury the woman alive?? Blood Aussies...always different.

I'll ask Woogle to drill a hole. They've had enough of splashing around for now

A hole may not work.

Perhaps a large aqueduct?

That is a beautiful picture. It tells a real story. Thanks for sharing.

I was watching the Nicolas Roeg film "Walkabout" last night. It is a genius film with beautiful Jenny Agutter in it. Then playing some Seekers this morning. I love that Melbourne band very much.

Hope the rain brings refreshment to the land, the peeps and the animals.

Glad you folks got some rain. As to the picture. I'm an amateur photographer. People like me, live to take pictures like the one you posted here. Love it.

You want less. They want more.

One of life's lessons.

Compromise.

Want some of our water?

We've had half the Atlantic Ocean dropped on us this month.

1 Australian Dollar per litre...should sort out our national debt nicely.

You supply the buckets, I can certainly provide the water....we seem to have a tiny excess at the moment.

What we need are the Romans to build aqueducts from Northern England to South Oz.

I'm sure I'm not alone in saying, you give us your sun, you can have the bloody lot!
