What about the fact they still have X-Wings vs Tie Fighters way after both ships were obsolete not long after the Battle of Endor. Shouldn't they be sporting A-Wings and Tie Interceptors by now? Hopefully that will be explained in the movie, just about 2 weeks away now.

Well why does the USA still have F-15 and F-16's 40 years later should they not all be F-22's

Looking at your avatar, we had a blackbird. Now thirty plus years later we don't. We had a space shuttle, thirty years later, we have capsule tipped rockets again (well, soon anyway).
A-Wing fighters look like old jedi starfighters like Obi-Wan and Anakin rocked.
The X-Wing in Force Awakens has a few differences.
Oh my...is my inner geek showing?

I pretty much gave up on that book it was just awful.
I am enjoying the new comics but that book, it was horrible.
The TIE wibbles and wobbles through the air, careening drunkenly across the Myrrann rooftops - it zigzags herkily-jerkily out of sight

I know right, is drew karpyshin ( if that is how you spell his name) not still kicking about?
Starting with the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we're going to get a Star Wars movie a year until at least 2019. We not only will get Star Wars: Episode VIII and Star Wars: Episode IX, but so far, there are several spinoff/standalone movies on the schedule, including Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and a Han Solo origin movie.
And that is probably only the beginning.
