I agree, unless she had the surgery then she is a he , heck I would love to change some things about my body, not my gender but just because I am fixated on a flat belly, no handles and a prefect chest doesn't mean I should go have those surgeries, but I think its ok if others do with their bodies what they want, its just that it can cause more harmful issues down the road.

It is legally a man.. Why should HE be sent to a female prison? HE said anyway that he would kill himself. Either way he would be dead, by his or someones hands. If you know that your Taboo ways are a threat to your safety, why commit crime that will get you sent to the most dangerous place for your kind?

So this was a violent criminal who victimized a minor (teenager), and he just figured oh well since he tells the world he is a woman, then maybe he will get special treatment because he can "act cute" or whatever and get a pass on attacking a minor teenager and stealing her property. I suspect this is part of the British violent youth culture where the youth in UK just think everyone is an easy victim since noone is armed and even when some people fight back they get in trouble as much as the victim.

Im going to add my own agenda and say, if the people of the UK were better armed, this Vicky Thompson person would not have joined the "crime without consequences" movement which is clearly the rage in the UK youth, probably stayed out of trouble, and nobody would be making the biggest argument about whether I am calling the violent victimizer of minors a he or a she instead of the actual crime.

That's cool, just wanted to confirm that your comments about 'real' women being able to give birth was a silly red herring.
Of course the ability to conceive does not make a woman, otherwise you would be suggesting that those who can't are somehow 'less' of a woman.

What is a trans woman or trans man? You have distorted the meaning of the words man and woman so much we cant understand which instance you are talking about. I thought we had to refer to them as the sex they choose yet when facts are needed (such as in a legal investigation) we have to disregard the PC indoctrination and resort to the actual gender they are born with? Do you not see the problem with this?

I had written a reply to several points made previously but have decided to give up. I'm tired of the baiting and back and forth and have better things to do with my time.

The hard headedness and inflexibility of some and the unwillingness to listen and consider things gives me zero motivation to even try. Too bad because some people actually want to learn stuff. Oh well.

Just take a breath and challenge the obvious bigotry as you see it post by post. It's what I do, nice cup of tea and tackle the knuckleheads as it feels comfortable.
It's becoming less important calling them out though, especially with each generation because the intolerant ones are slowly dying out.
20 years from now I reckon such dinosaurs will be just history, but until then I'll continue sharing my opinion where it conflicts with bigots.

What? I think refusal to use the correct pro-noun that someone respects is rude at best and bigoted at worst.

Plenty of folks in this thread I'm glad are not in my real life social circles, and I'm a straight CIS male so none of the issues actually affect me.

That makes no sense. No one said the crime warranted death. The death was self inflicted yet people have attempted to spin that to mean this person who victimized someone was a victim. If they are a victim of anything its their own shortsightedness and bad decisions.

How is this story any more sadder than any other stories of criminals killing themselves?

Just because this male identified himself as female doesnt mean that everyone else should identify him as such, it's called freedom of expression, it works both ways.

What makes you think she wouldnt have been killed in the womans prison? Prison is a rough place. Regardless of what sex you are. But being transgendered she probably should have been put in seclusion which is like lockdown because with either sex she is still a target for being different. Getting a sex change does not make you normal in anyones mind. Even the person getting the operation. There are still psychological issues they cannot change and you cant change the minds of others who will judge you as weird or different. So they live their lives dealing with that every day. The change foesnt make their life better I would think it makes it worse.

HE will always be a man. It doesn't matter if you mold one part into another, cut something off or wear a disguise. A male is a male and a female is a female...always. If they "identify" differently...fine. But it changes nothing. This is a simple scientific fact. Gender is not a state of mind...it is a physical fact.
