So how long until those weapons turn up miraculously in the hands of Isis or the Mexican mafia?

Shh, we should not mention Fast and Furious nor Eric Holder. In the name of... national...security.

Your comment pretty much nails the 70% probability of being truth, (It is more like 80%, but I am just being nice.)

...six M4 assault rifles, ten pistols, and several long guns

Just a quick question, what are long guns? Are we talking M24 and M82 snipers?

Long guns can be any type of rifle or shotgun.

When I served it was not uncommon practice for people who lived in the barracks to keep their personal firearms in the unit's armory for safe keeping. I do not know if that is still the case, but if it is, it could mean these long guns could have been personal weapons of members of the unit. Depending on what kinds of weapons, some could be worth considerable money, even more so than the military weapons that were stolen.

The armory's alarm system was ticketed for repair that evening and not working. They blew a hole above the vault and went in from there.

First, where did you get that information?

Second, AR 190-11 requires a 2 man armed guard in 12 hour shifts per guard(or however the unit wants to break it down, so long as it meets the standard) in the event of a security failure.

The military is big, and will always feature idiots and criminals.

However, this is a hell of federal crime, lots of time in Leavenworth.

GI's steal and pawn stuff all the time. But I have a hard time imagining the guy stupid enough to do a 20-30 year Leavenworth deal.

Could be a GI, but I doubt it based on pure logic. Unless it's the classic guy with zero hope and beyond frantic / desperate. Blackmail; 200 K in debt to some really bad guys; family held hostage.

This is the level of federal crime that would most likely be done by some bigger, badder people. Like a terrorist cell.

Exactly
as if ISIS would spray paint a big red I on the wall. In other words, they have no idea!

I am very concerned for this country right now. Our doors have been left wide open and unknowns are being invited in without any way to keep track of them. Hell! Just this morning we are learning that one of the Syrian refugees that came into Louisiana has gone missing. I'm sure he won't be the last. I have a very ominous feeling right now as if everything has been in the planning for years and is about to come to fruition.

Yeah, you're partially correct, however AC rules are very different from RC Facility regs. Privately owned weapons are strictly forbidden in RC facilities/property. It's the same for pretty much any Federal facility. Only LEO and Fed authorized law enforcement being the exception.

I'm guessing "long guns" most likely refers to "rapid chatterers" and they don't want to rile the public about belt fed uglies.

"What makes them military? Is it because they're black and have handles? Hurr durr...2nd amendment...hurr durr"

Seriously though, sounds like plain ol' theft of government property. I'd imagine if ISIS was going to break into a military armory they'd at least take more than a couple of M4's and pistol's. I mean...this is America...how hard is it to get a pistol in this country?

Very easy to get pistols but full auto combat rifles, not so easy.
Somebody has possession of 6 full auto rifles now.
Employed intelligently in a terrorist attack they could easily approach a similar number of victims to the Paris attacks.
NO suicide vests needed.
Might even get away to shoot another day.

This is very troubling as it does speak of inside help, something our government does far too often with the wrong people.

It's reasonable to be concerned. After all, Nidal Hassan (the Ft. Hood masacre) was said to have been radicalized almost overnight. Here he was. A soldier. Next thing you know he is shooting fellow soldiers. BTW, are soldiers allowed to carry their weapons on base now, or are they still disarmed?

Hassan was not radicalized overnight. He was a student of radical muslims for a period of time.

But have no fear, he's still classified as nothing but workplace violence, so obviously he isn't and never was a radical muslim. Just ask our president.

I actually hope it was an inside job. The Sgt. at Arms had a buyer, and not anyone in the radical sense. Hopefully they can track it regardless and stop anything untowards from happening.

I don't think Saddam was radical Muslim, rather a Radical Saddamist, but he had buddies that worked with him for the profit of an elite.

He was anything but devout.

How convenient for the terror-peddlers in DC.. (DC is not America btw, it'd privately owned).

Always some bull before USA elections.

Picture can't be more clear that a massive network of conspirators are running governments and all the networks that branch from it.

The past couple months. You have to be clueless and ignorant intentionally not to see it.

Suspect arrested on Long Island last night. It showed up on my Twitter feed this morning. This link at WWLP will probably only be temporary.
