Be Still

Stop..be still, just sit and listen,
Watch as the world goes on.
What is it, that you're truly missin?
Precious moments forever gone.

We constantly go, never stop,
Can't slow down or we'll fall behind.
Trying to make our way to the top,
Even though it's a waste of time....

Time..we use it up so carelessly.
Toiling away at our nine to fives.
Spend our time arbitrarily,
Living out our dreary lives.

Only a few ever stop and wonder,
If this is what was meant for us.
Waking up from their eternal slumber,
To think..is this all there ever was?

Stop...be still, just sit for awhile,
Take a moment to just be you.
I promise it will be worthwhile,
To see the world from a different view

Thanks,

Most people would go crazy if they had to stop and see themselves, if even for a moment.

The Hounds of Heaven (conscience) snapping at their heels, drive them forward.

Try it people. Sit still, close your eyes. I bet you can't stay there for five minutes without becoming super anxious.

True enough. Hard to turn the brain off, constantly chattering about what you did, what you are doing, what you should be doing. Taking five minutes sometimes is like trying to meditate at a baseball game.

Blend, nice one.

That "thought stream" isn't us, its the one been given to us to struggle with, ingrained into our psyche. We are the observer, trying to detach from the river of thought and sit on the bank instead of drifting along in the river itself.
