I don't think it's photo shopped. I think it's just perspective.
What's really crazy IMO, is it appears as though the roof actually slides open!

I would like to give a big thank you to OP, I've never seen this. Futurama is my favorite show of all time, I re-watch it any time there isn't anything else.

Not really photoshoped, except that it's cropped, so we only see the parts that look like was in Futurama.

I could tell right away it was part of an very old observatory (and then quickly thought of the Prof's Smellascope......)....
