I lean pretty far left, but am not inspired by the Democratic candidates for President, I watched the Republican debate tonight. My question is who would independents be inspired to support, or other Democrats?

From watching the first two debates, John Kassich is a pretty strong candidate.

None of them. They'll all tow the line just like every president that came before them, Bernie Sanders seems to be the best hope we have, but I've been burned too many times to fully support any of them.

Have been burned as well, just trying to see where others think support might lie.

I think a GOP or DNC endorsed candidate are one in the same and both create friendly Oligopoly laws.

With that said
1. I liked Ben Carson.
2. The GOP won't pick him and are already trying to downgrade his performance. This means that I like him even more.

I also liked his respone on vacine. Get rid of the nice.to have vacines and keep only the ones we really need to decrease the amounts and spread them out more. Thats what we did with my son.

Ben Carson spoke logically and did not come across as regurgitating scripted responses and emotions.
He is also for a Flat tax, was against the war, has a non gov't politician background, and appears to determine his stance on issues on logic rather than political rhetoric .

I consider myself an Independent, voting from candidates from several parties on any given ballot. After discarding obvious no-gos, I vet the remainder and vote for the candidate who best represents their constituents based on history, bio and platform. The roster from both sides leaves me with no clear choice, with the exception of Dems. HRC is done, IMO, Biden is hesitant, Sanders(He has some great qualities and good ideas, but am not sold on him) may be popular, but can't see him carrying the ticket as a self-avowed Socialist. He may go the distance if he picks a running mate that'll solidify the ticket(Warren? Doubtful, but it'd be a dream team for many).

On the flip side, Trump is an entertainer whose shtick will wear thin, Bush does nothing for many people, Christie has too much baggage/temper, and the candidates who hold hard lines against women's choices about their own bodies are a non-starter for many. The field on this side is muddled, and the media only focuses on Trump. Fiorina is the one candidate from this side that appeals to me, and if it's time for a woman in the WH, she's the only woman in the field that I would vote for. It's early in the race, and so much can happen in the upcoming months. I'm in agreement with your opinion of Kassich, but he's not getting the exposure the popular candidates are receiving.

Most of the people on this site are partisan slaves and would never even consider breaking lock step with their chosen party BS. I bet you will see lots of people respond with none.

I thought Dr. Carson did fairly well, his timidity turns me off a bit, but is also part of his appeal.

I too think HRC is done, and while Sanders has some awesome ideas, I do not believe he can carry a majority in the general election, out side of that possible dream ticket. Am looking at Joe Biden with new eyes, but from his own admission, not sure if he has the energy needed to make the run.

The media needs to step up and show all of these folks for what they are, good and bad. The best step the RNC could do right now, is ask those 4 in the JV debate to just step away. In the debates last night, I thought both Rubio and Paul made some good points, Carson stood out with some of his ideas, but Kassich needs to get more coverage.

I think you are underestimating the majority of the users on this site, there may be far more independent thinkers than you imply.

Look above my post and you will see the partisan slaves already saying 'none'. They can't comprehend of a world where they aren't right and their dogma isn't superior.

I like Carson, but his stance on Science scares me. I feel like he's pandering to the far, far right. I want to like Paul but not sure I trust him.

If it was just based on recent debate performance though, I'd go with Carly. She is very Charismatic and comes off very intelligent and more moderate then most of the others. I think she held her own last night with the guys.

Trump seemed to deflect too much with out giving a lot of substance and he also seemed uneasy in a couple of areas. The more I see Bush the weaker he seems to me. All of the others just seem to be bunched up in the pack. Ted Cruz speaks well but I know I don't trust him. He's still infatuated with Obama Care. We've got way more issues than just that one Ted!

For the Record, I lean left on most issues, but have some strong conservative stances like the right to own guns. I'm independent by nature and voter registration though.
