NASA employees were caught buying child pornography from a criminal ring in Eastern Europe that distributed images of minors as young as three, it can be revealed.

An investigation by Daily Mail Online found 16 staff members from the space agency paid for pictures and videos of children in sexual situations, but were never prosecuted.

Their names have never been released because of government guidelines which protect their privacy – prompting fears some of the culprits are still employed by NASA.

Some had highest available security clearance.

After the probe was completed just 10 were ever charged with viewing or purchasing child pornography - prompting fears some of those caught could still be working for the military

You know sometimes I can be incredibly naive, NASA?? those super bright folks that can set a probe on a moving comet?? they are into child porn?? not only that but they are being protected by the gov't , you just can't trust anyone, so disappointed but perhaps I deserved my disappointment for having trust in people with high intelligence people are people and will disappoint you every time no matter who they are.

So just the umbrella name...NASA! Considering it's many roles you can see the sensitivity, Military, Climate change, space, weather..whatever, or just flawed geniuses making flawed judgements. The ball is in your court!

I believe this is more wide spread than is ever reported or would even be believable to the public. Especially by people in positions of prestige and power. Feel for the children being used.

I'm pretty sure this isn't nothing compared to say our own congress, senate and other public officials. NASA, I've been on job interviews with NASA, you'd be surprised how many people work for NASA.

As for the cover up, that's been happening since who knows when, ( see what I did there ).

Sick none the less.

Technology is only growing, the future doesn't know the word " privacy ".

Wait until viruses are released that scan PCs and flag all those who have XXX in their drives and are exposed that way. Can't coverup something that catches you off guard.

Maybe these are the names that should be released by someone and then fire all the sick bastards and then proisicute the scum , and if they are worried that the people will give up secrets then lock them up and throw away the key or just put them in the general population and let things work out all by themselves. ....STOP PROTECTING THESE DIRT BAGS. That would be in the interest of our national security far more than covering this up.

Only ten were charged out of all investigated.

Has it occurred to any of you that the others might not be involved?

What's with the leaping to conclusions based on what is very little evidence available to us...

obviously, NASA utilizes numerous individuals of questionable character & have engaged in elaborate measures to conceal identities of particular individuals, exposing these individuals attributes will undoubtedly induce the inevitability of them blowing the whistle on the Moon Landing Hoax and otherwise compromise the ability too initiate their untimely demise ...

I see this will be the year of having some child pornography coming into light? What is this the third or fourth one? Glad that you know they were caught kind of makes me wonder though are they ever going to get the ones that are you know taking these pictures or making these videos?

Really, 16 people were probed, ten were charged out of the tens of thousands (?) who work at NASA.

Seems a bit of a storm in a teacup, in that, what does NASA have to do with it.

In all probability, you would find a few sick individuals in any organization.

If you want to get upset at a really large organization who are into all sorts of sick crap, go no further than the Catholic Church. There is an organization to get upset about and rightly so.

all pertinent aspect assemblages regarding the moon hoax must be disjunctured & discharged down the memory hole , then the procedure too discredit potential whistle blowers can commence through the controlled opposition ...

Hopefully so because this is kind of getting ridiculous just how far and long this has gone on with just the buyers being caught and not so much those that are supplying.

Hooray!! Another awful "lets all jump to the wrong conclusions" thread!!

Apparently, some people think that smart people cant also have sick fetishes....

I would imagine every single company had a few people working there into stuff like this.

People seem so easily able to ignore that this is the Daily Mail, when it suits them.
The DM is a trash rag, the lowest of the low, these are people who preach utter bs day in and day out for nothing more than hits on their site.

It states an "investigation by the Daily Mail found..." which is their usual MO for making themselves sound important, when all they've done is gather information, churn it up and then spit it out to give a different (anger inducing) story. Give me a f-ing break.

What really happened? It was probably discovered that the majority of those investigated by the FBI unknowingly accessed it, or had their details used without their knowledge, or were entirely innocent.

Enough with this witch-hunt bs, stop believing the tabloid sh*t when it suits you, you're buying into the "fifteen minutes of ignorant rage" the DM sells to the idiot masses every day.

I have just been onto the NASA website, because I wanted to make something very clear, something which your OP singularly fails to remind us of, despite the necessity of doing so in times such as these, and in light of the information you provide in your OP.

NASA has 17,229 total employees of its own, aside from any contractors they might have working on their projects, and bear in mind, it is contractors which make up the vast majority of the workforce on most projects

Of those 17,229 , 16,572 are full time employees, and the rest are split up between students, part timers, term employees, and other non-full time staff.

So the fact that 16 of them have been found to be involved in such a scandal means that 0.093% of the people at NASA have anything to do with this issue. Lets keep this in some sort of perspective shall we?

NASA as a whole, does not like images of little kids. Less than one percent of its full time workforce however, need a severe kicking.

I have only two things to say.

Connecting a serious offence like possession of indecent images of children, and the non-issue surrounding the Moon Landing, is a baseless, and utterly irresponsible way to approach this delicate subject, and if you were anyone else, I would suggest that you should be utterly ashamed of yourself...

But at least your screen name makes your intention clear, so perhaps in this case you can forgo the shame. There is no false advertising going on with you what so ever.

Looking at the thread title and reading the material I am reminded of the headline the other day "Climate Change Scientist Found Guilty of Fraud"

The title, by linking him to climate change, tries to promote the idea that his theories and his fraud were linked when in fact they are just unconnected facts about the guy.

Isn't this the same? How is their place of employment relevant to the story? If they were using NASA satellites to zoom in on kids in a swimming pool there might be a link but no. Just an attempt to lazily smear NASA with guilt by association.

Cheap trick, man. Very cheap.

In a lot of cases you might be right. But how is it relevant? Unlike someone working in other places where does NASA receive its funding? Who bought the computers the computers the stuff was found on ? Who pays the salaries of these people? What job function are these people being paid to do by the taxpayers, this?

Where they work is relevant in this case where it might not be so much. Your point was taken though , the linking of the two may not be right, but the other part besides the child porn would be using taxpayers money to partake in it. Unless I am completely not understanding. Seems they had people in multiple government sectors. We finance government. That's the relevance
