from We are all Spock! The Vulcan lives on in Captain Kirk's mosaic selfie

William Shatner asked people to send him in selfies of them doing the Vulcan salute. He did not say why. This is what he has made out of it:

I think this is so touching that he dealt with his bereavement in this way. What a guy! He did it by making a collage out of all the pictures sent in. Nice art Mr Shatner.

Very nice gesture. Even though im not sure that shatner did this himself, but the though is what counts.

It is based on the Kohen hand sign of a priestly blessing.

"Kohen or cohen (or kohain; Hebrew: כֹּהֵן, "priest", pl. כֹּהֲנִים kohanim) is the Hebrew word for priest. Jewish kohanim are traditionally believed and halakhically required to be of direct patrilineal descent from the biblical Aaron."

It is a very beautiful priestly blessing that represents Leonard's roots, too. Very fitting.

I think his wife is an artist, so she probably helped him a great deal.

What better way to bond with Trekkies than create a tribute to Leonard directly from his fans - well done Captain.

Brilliant !
Hope all the people who were bagging Shatner for not going to the funeral see this , a tribute by Shatner to his friend that includes Star Trek fans.
May he live long and prosper.

Sorry hate to be a Killjoy buzzkill, Shatner did have a great idea but he had help. He did not print out all the photo's and size them all up on a wall and viola "Art" , Far from it.

Using this method he created this picture.

To create a mosaic from this from this original photo.

Yes, priests who worship volcanos, very fitting indeed.
