Seeker of the meaning of life..

Hi everyone! I have been an avid reader of ATS forums for years. I finally decided to make an account, as it seems to be the only place I can find anyone who thinks somewhat like me. I am a 26 year old from California and I have recently been stricken with an overwhelming urge for greater and deeper knowledge of my/our existence. As the daughter of a minister, my questions have always been answered in religious terms. After delving into this site over the years, my mind and eyes have been opened beyond comprehension. Our existence is open to so much interpretation.. that it ceases to quench my thirst for knowledge and understanding of this vast and mysterious world around us. The more I read, the more questions I have. For this, I thank the posters here. Without this site I wouldn't have the opportunity to seek answers to questions deemed "crazy" by those in my real life. If anyone knows of any existing topics that can help steer me in a good direction on my journey of self-discovery and enlightenment, I would greatly appreciate it! And thanks again

My suggestion keep an eye on the religious and philosophy forums. Take what works for you and leave what doesn't.

We are on 7 billion different journeys to the same place. And you can find that place within yourself.

You sound like a smart gal, I have a similar history coming from an extremely hard line Christian family. I had an existential crisis while I was in the army and had to rewrite everything I thought I knew about reality. Was the hardest thing I've ever done and the story still isn't written. I don't know the meaning but I do know happiness and making those around us happy seems to have value anyway welcome to the site look forward to seeing you around.
