Key West Beach Bomb Plot Foiled

When I first read the headline I was thinking of possible links to the mysterious beach explosion in Rhode Island. (Link)
After reading the article I am sure there was no connection. Especially the notable lack of purposeful shrapnel.

A young Key West man who came to the attention of the FBI because of his alleged pro-terrorist postings on Facebook was charged with trying to use a backpack bomb in a planned explosion on a public beach, authorities said Tuesday.

Harlem Suarez, 23, of Key West, Florida, was charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction, a charge that carries up to life in prison.

The article mentions he was arrested after purchasing "inert material" so I assume this was another sting operation.

We hope the FBI keeps up the good work
