Ummm...this little ditty of a poem is quite reminiscent of a distant memory...or a dream or...Well you get the picture...I wrote this this morning while sipping my coffee...

Gilt Guilt

I went off to prison again today
Surreal the clang of lock of door
Frantically pacing the time away
This animal caged clearly wet the floor

I open my eyes and expect to find
An orange jumpsuit respective should be
Realities shift placed the bars in my mind
Twas guilt that gilt that had imprisoned me

Irresolute I had fancied my life
Adrift through moment who moments had fled
Convinced took the reigns said damn you to strife
Haunt me no more speaks the voice in my head

Haunt me no more yet there I the haint
Whomever my head might then occupy
Three sheets to the wind and I sing like a saint
Or imbibing at least yes at least I would try

Three sheets to the wind or three winds to the sheet
I croon as if life were my bride
Spinning I spin for they've stolen my feet
Asleep in whatever I'd poured inside

Now...I know you've all been there as well...imprisoned by drink and those god awful spins...
Cmon admit it...there's no shame in this game...
